The new data STVs has come into effect starting August 1st, 2016.

Vodafone has hiked the price of a special tariff voucher (STV) in Kolkata. In the circle, the telecom operator has withdrawn the bonus card of Rs. 75 and instead, introduced a new bonus card of Rs. 127. The new bonus card of Rs. 127 will allow the customers to make local calls at 40 p/minute and STD call at 35p/min for 56 days.

BSNL to sign 2G roaming pact with Jio, Vodafone

State-owned BSNL is in advanced talks with Reliance Jio and Vodafone for signing a 2G roaming agreement this month. “We are in advanced stages for signing 2G intra-circle roaming agreement with Reliance Jio and Vodafone. BSNL beats private telcos in growth rate in February

NEW DELHI: BSNL today said it has registered the highest growth rate in providing new wireless connections during February this year, beating all private operators. BSNL has a growth rate of 1.67 per cent, followed by Bharti Airtel with 1.18 per cent, Vodafone with 1.04 per cent and Idea Cellular with 0.85 per cent whereas the industry average stood at 0.85 per cent.

TRAI to float a consultation paper on Internet telephony in a month

Telecom regulator TRAI will come out with a consultation paper on Internet-based telephone service in a month. “We are bringing out consultation paper soon on Internet telephony. It is a matter of weeks…a month,” Telecom Regulatory Authority of India Chairman R S Sharma told PTI when asked about the regulator’s views on calls made through mobile applications.

Telephone user base grows to 105.88 cr in March

The total telephone subscriber base in the country rose marginally in March to 105.88 crore on the back of growth in wireless as well as wire line users.

The overall user base stood at 105.18 crore at the end of February, sectoral regulator Trai said today.

The wireless subscriber base increased by 0.68 per cent to 103.36 crore at the end of March, from 102.66 crore last month.

Digital vans all set to take e-governance to rural areas

The government will roll out a new campaign on Monday under which 66 digital vans, equipped with Internet and audio-visual facilities, will go to 657 districts by March 2017 to increase awareness about various e-governance services in rural and semi-urban areas.

“The aim is to reach out to more than 10 lakh citizens and register over 1.5 lakh rural citizens for MyGov, digital locker, Aadhaar and other digital services,” a Telecom Ministry official said.

These vans would cover more than 13 lakh km in 13,200 man days.

Following the success of the spectrum auction of 2015, which raked in the highest-ever returns of 1.10 lakh crore last year, the Centre is now gearing up for the next round of public sale of airwaves. Though the date for the auctions is yet to be finalised, Union Minister for Communications & IT Ravi Shankar Prasad said it would happen “shortly”, in the next two-three months.

According to the tender document, the company will accept bids for new equipment purchase till July 1. The company did not mention the value of the contract to be given out, but industry sources said the purchase is estimated to be worth more than $1 billion.

लखनऊ: भारत संचार निगम लिमिटेड (बीएसएनएल) ने बेसिक फोन लाइन से जुड़े ब्राडबैंड ग्राहकों को वर्तमान में मिल रहे डाटा पैक की सुविधा को दो गुना करने का तोहफा दिया है। इसके तहत ब्राडबैंड कस्टमर को मिलने वाली डाटा डाउनलोड क्षमता (एफयूपी लिमिट) को वर्तमान क्षमता से दो गुना उपलब्ध कराया जाएगा।

बंद हो चुके ब्राॅडबैंड कनेक्शन को फिर से चालू कराने पर बीएसएनएल की ओर से नई स्कीम दी जा रही है। 

इस स्कीम के तहत संस्थान शुल्क एक महीने का ब्राॅडबैंड प्लान का किराया माफ किया जाएगा साथ ही बीएसएनएल ने खर्च पर उपभोक्ता को 500 रुपए की बात फ्री कर सकेगा।

टीएन मिश्र, लखनऊ बीएसएनएल के सीएमडी अनुपम श्रीवास्तव ने देश भर के अपने हजारों टेलीफोन एक्सचेंजों की ओर लोगों को आकर्षित करने के लिए उनके परिसरों में वाई-फाई हॉटस्पॉट लगाने का निर्णय किया है। इससे एक्सचेंजों में लोगों का आवागमन बढ़ने के साथ ही बीएसएनएल का राजस्व बढ़ने की उम्मीद की जा रही है। पहले चरण में जिलों व राज्य मुख्यालयों के एक्सचेंजों में यह सुविधा दी जाएगी।

12 हजार कटे ब्रॉडबैंड कनेक्शन जोड़ेगा बीएसएनएल

रसं, लखनऊ : बीएसएनएल के सीएमडी अनुपम श्रीवास्तव ने 31 दिसम्बर तक कटे ब्रॉडबैंड कनेक्शनों को दोबारा जोड़ने का निर्णय किया है। ऐसे कनेक्शनों की बकाया रकम भी छूट के साथ जमा करने की सुविधा दी जाएगी। दूसरी ओर उन्हें आउटगोइंग कॉल्स की सुविधा शुरू करके एक महीने तक रेंटल फ्री ब्रॉडबैंड की सुविधा दी जाएगी।

BSNL expects to be profitable in four years: Ravi Shankar Prasad

NEW DELHI: State-owned BSNL expects to be profitable in four years and has started registering rise in income from services, Parliament was informed today.

"BSNL expects to turn profitable in next four years or so, for which BSNL is taking several steps like augmentation of mobile network," Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha.

Interested in buying one slot of 700 Mhz spectrum: BSNL

BARCELONA: In order to strengthen coverage, state-run telecom operator BSNL is interested in buying 5 MHz spectrum in premium 700 MHz band in atleast six service areas.

BSNL though will not be participating in the auction. Instead, it will ask government to keep one slot reserved for it and will pay the market determined price for the circles after the auction concludes.

देहरादून: दूरसंचार सलाहकार समिति की बैठक में बीएसएनएल की सेवाओं को और विस्तार देने पर चर्चा की गई। शुक्रवार को महाप्रबंधक कार्यालय देहरादून में आयोजित हुई बैठक में सांसद व टीएसी के सह अध्यक्ष तरुण विजय ने कहा कि संचार सुविधाओं को बढ़ावा देने के लिए निगम को अपने नेटवर्क को सुदृढ़ करना चाहिए।

बीएसएनएल ने पेश किया 1500 रुपए का वाई-फाई मोडेम

नई दिल्ली। दूरसंचार सेवाएं देने वाली सार्वजनिक कंपनी भारत संचार निगम लिमिटेड (बीएसएनएल) ने 1500 रुपए में वाई-फाई ब्रॉडबैंड मोडेम लांच किया है जिसके साथ शत-प्रतिशत कैशबैक की भी सुविधा है। कंपनी ने बुधवार को कहा कि यह मोडेम 700 रुपए मासिक या इससे अधिक के ब्रॉडबैंड प्लान का इस्तेमाल करने वाले उपभोक्ताओं के लिए उपलब्ध है।

डेढ़ माह में बीएसएनएल से जुड़े 49 हजार नए मोबाइल उपभोक्ता

 हाजीपुर। कभी जिले में अपनी लचर व्यवस्था को लेकर बीएसएनएल को लोग भाई साहब नहीं लगेगा की उपाधि से नवाजते थे। आज उसी बीएसएनएल विभाग ने अपनी पुरानी छवि से निकलते हुए नये मोबाइल ग्राहक बनाने में रिकार्ड सफलता हासिल की है। पिछले डेढ़ माह के दौरान बीएसएनएल हाजीपुर ने 45 हजार 963 उपभोक्ताओं को अपनी मोबाइल सेवा से जोड़ा है।

नयी दिल्ली। बीएसएनएल ने अपने उपभोक्‍ताओं के लिए एक खास ऑफर पेश किया है। इस ऑफर के तहत 4 रुपए की शुरुआती कीमत में ही कंपनी के यूजर्स अपने फोन में इंटरनेट का प्रयोग कर सकते हैं। इसके अलावा कंपनी ने एक एसएमएस पैक भी लांच किया है। बीएसएनएल का ये ऑफर 13 फरवरी से 20 फरवरी तक की अवधि के दौरान ही मान्‍य होगा।

नक्सल प्रभावित जिलों में बजने लगी बीएसएनएल की घंटी

सूबे के नक्सल प्रभावित जिले सोनभद्र, मिर्जापुर और चंदौली में नक्सलियों के खिलाफ पुलिस को बड़ी कामयाबी मिली है। करीब दस साल की जद्दोजहद के बाद इन तीन जिलों में बीएसएनएल के 78 मोबाइल टावर लग गए। करीब पखवारे भर पूर्व इन्हें चालू भी कर दिया गया है। इससे इन जिलों के 641 गांवों में रहने वाले लोगों को फायदा होगा। नक्सलियों के विरोध के चलते यहां अब तक टावर नहीं लग पाए थे।

रिकाॅर्ड तोड़ कामयाबी की ओर बढ़ रहा बीएसएनएल

हाजीपुर : बीएसएनएल की हाजीपुर इकाई ने जनवरी महीने में राज्य भर में सबसे अधिक नये मोबाइल ग्राहक बनाने का रिकाॅर्ड कायम करने के बाद फरवरी माह में अपने ही रिकाॅर्ड को पीछे छोड़ने की ओर अग्रसर है. इस महीने के पहले पखवारे में 12 हजार से अधिक नये मोबाइल कनेक्शन दिये जा चुके हैं.

Wrong govt policies have affected BSNL

The wrong policies initiated by the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology has affected the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) in the country, said the BSNL Employees Union Zonal Secretary C K Gundanna.

The government has asked search engine giant Google to select a telecom operator in India for testing its Loon Project, the balloon-based internet technology.

If Google wants to conduct a test with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL), it can carry out the experiment in the spectrum held by the state-owned company, an official said.

The Cabinet on Wednesday gave an 'in-principle' approval to hive off tower assets, a person familiar with the development said.
