The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited’s Tirunelveli telecom district has proposed to offer three training programmes for engineering and polytechnic students. An official statement said the BSNL conducts in-plant training programmes on the various technologies in telecommunication and networks in the office of General Manager, BSNL, Vannarpettai, during summer vacation for the benefit of engineering and polytechnic students.
Duration of the training ranges from one week to four weeks, based on the requirement of the students. The fee for this course is Rs. 1,300 per week.
A three-day special computer network training has been introduced for engineering, polytechnic, graduate and postgraduate students of computer science. The training is given by well-experienced BSNL engineers on the subject in state-of-the-art network lab in the office of General Manager, BSNL, Tirunelveli. Fee for this course is Rs.1500.
For civil engineering students studying in engineering colleges and polytechnics, five-day ‘Civil Engineering Practices’ course is being conducted by the civil engineers of BSNL at the same venue. The course fee is Rs.1300.
Institutions sending a group of 26 students or more for these trainings will get a special discount of 10 per cent of the course fee and a group of 51 or more students will get a special discount of 20 per cent. Certificates will be given to all participants on completion of the training.
