BSNL revises Rs 999 prepaid plan, to offer almost 1GB data more per day

NEW DELHI: The data war is intensifying with each passing day as the telecom operators are busy rolling out and revising their existing data plans. Recently, Vodafone revised two of its prepaid plans and now the state-owned telecom operator BSNL too has revamped its prepaid plans.

In order to take on Reliance Jio, famous telecom company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited is grabbing headlines for revising its Rs. 999 prepaid plan in which the users will also get 3.1 GB of daily data (2GB/3G) wherein the customers will get a total download of up to 561.1 data.

BSNL's FY loss widens to INR 79.92 billion

Indian state-owned operator BSNL reports that its annual loss widened to INR 79.92 billion for the fiscal year ended March 2018. BSNL posted a loss of INR 47.93 billion in 2016/17, The Economic Times reports. BSNL's share on the Indian broadband segment declined to 10 percent in March 2018 from 19 percent in the same period of 2018.

7th Pay Commission: Good news for BSNL employees awaiting pension revision

The government has decided to give a year-ending gift to BSNL employees with 7th Pay Commission at its core. The Department of Telecommunications has reportedly agreed to de-link the 'pension revision' of former BSNL employees from the 'pay revision' of the serving staff of the state-owned telecom operator.
