BSNL to close CDMA services from Sept 5

Nashik: Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd’s (BSNL), Nashik division will close down its CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) mobile network and landline services from September 5.
Consumers using the CDMA mobile network will be given the option to switch over to GSM (Global System Mobile) network while retaining the same contact number.

Nashik: The state-run Bharat Snachar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) has firmed up its plan to provide Wi-Fi connectivity to 82 more villages of the district by the end of the current fiscal.

State-owned telecom operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has reportedly increased the number of SMS in a pack for its users.

According to a report by TelecomTalk, BSNL has modified the number of SMS in the plans for Rs 399 and above. The plans above Rs 399 will offer 100 SMS per day for the total validity period of the plan and the plans below Rs 399 will offer 100 SMS for the entire validity period. Readers must note that it is only for post-paid users.

NEW DELHI: State-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) Wednesday launched ‘Chhota Pack’ for its pre-paid mobile customers on the occasion of Independence Day on August 15.

Under the new ‘Freedom’ offer BSNL provides promotional features on the occasion of Independence Day for the period between August 10, 2018 and August 25, 2018 at Rs 29 which includes unlimited voice to any network even during roaming (except Delhi & Mumbai), the telco in a statement said.

BSNL is revising postpaid plans to offer 100 SMS per day benefits, but there is a catch

BSNL has constantly been making changes to its current plans in order to compete better with the likes of Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel. While the state-run telco has been able to match its arch rivals in terms of data offerings, the one place it fell behind was with SMS benefits. But not anymore. The company announced recently that it is revising some of its plans to offer 100 SMS per day benefits, as opposed to offering 100 SMS for the entire validity period.

BSNL now offers 100 SMS per day free on select postpaid plans

BSNL has now added SMS benefits to some of its postpaid plans, in a bid to take on Reliance Jio. Each of the state-run telco’s postpaid plans will receive benefits of 100 SMSes, whose validity varies with the pack amount. While BSNL postpaid plans under Rs 399 will get 100 free SMSes over the plan duration, those above Rs 399 will now come with benefits of 100 free SMSes per day.

NEW DELHI: State-run telecom company BSNL has narrowed its loss to Rs 4,785 crore during 2017-18, even as its income declined to Rs 27,818 crore as against the previous fiscal, Parliament was informed today.

BSNL posted a loss of Rs 4,859 crore in 2015-16, Rs 4,786 crore in 2016-17 and Rs 4,785 crore (provisional and unaudited) in 2017-18, Telecom Minister Manoj Sinha said in a written reply in the Lok Sabha.
