BSNL, which is now seemingly on the way to recovery, has now
announced that its 5GB broadband plan could be availed for no extra
cost. This means that the plan is now free to check out. This comes
after the government-led telco added extra validity of 90 days to its
annual Rs 1699 scheme which was earlier valid for 365 days.

More than 22,000 employees of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) have
opted for its VRS plan, within two days of the state-owned corporation
announcing the scheme, a senior official said on Thursday.
In all, nearly one lakh BSNL employees are eligible for the VRS out of its total staff strength of 1.50 lakh. The scheme that was rolled out on November 5 will be open till December 3.

BSNL revival may help clear dues to Hong Kong vendor UTStarcom
NEW DELHI – Hong-Kong based-UTStarcom, a major
telecom equipment provider to Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd, is expected to
benefit from the Centre's recent decision to revive the public sector
telecom company. The government's decision to inject fresh capital into
the state-owned company should facilitate the payment of a 5-bln-rupee
due owed to UTStarcom.

response from employees and in less than two days, over 22,000 people
have applied for it. Both executives and non-executives have shown
interest in the scheme, which is valid till December 3.
