Conmen get duplicate SIM, get richer by Rs. 9.62 lakh

Using an ingenious method, conmen siphoned off Rs. 9.62 lakh from the account of a city-based businessman by illegally obtaining a duplicate SIM card for his cellphone number and thus receiving the one-time password (OTP) to make money transactions while his phone remained defunct.

Free wi-fi at Trichy airport by year-end

TRICHY: By December 31, the Trichy airport will provide free wi-fi to all passengers. Network provider BSNL is set to provide the services at the airport and the wi-fi will be available for free for the first half hour for the convenience of the passengers. The decision to provide wi-fi was taken at the airport advisory committee meeting. 

Mahanagar Telephone Nigam : MINISTRY PUTS BSNL ON NOTICE

Ravi Shankar Prasad, the Telecom Minister, Government of India, had received complaints over service quality of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL), Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL) and the Department of Posts on the social media Facebook. He has 4,65,000 followers on the Facebook. The minister has got the notices issued to the three public sector undertakings (PSUs) after he personally took note of the complaints. The three PSUs fall under his ministry.

Telecom Ministry pulls up state-run BSNL, MTNL over poor services

Following huge backlash on social media, state-run telecom firms BSNL and MTNL were issued notices by the telecom ministry for not providing quality services to the customers. About 102 notices have been issued to the departments under this ministry and 64 have been resolved. BSNL now has an official page on Facebook to connect with people, the Economic Times said quoting an official. 

Bandwidth export to India begins on trial

A trial run for bandwidth export to India started from Akhaura yesterday following which Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company Limited (BSCCL) will kick off its formal export on December 01 through Akhaura-Agartala frontier.
On November 16, Bangladesh and India connected its optical fibre at zero point on the Akhaura-Agartala border.  

BSNL launches unlimited broadband combo plan BBG ULD 990 Pan India

State run BSNL has launched an attractive combo plan for its subscribers pan India. The plan which comes at a denomination of Rs.990 gives usage at 2Mbps up to 8GB and beyond that it gives unlimited usage at 512Kbps.
The plan also gives the added advantage of unlimited night time calling to any mobile or landline network across India and 350 calls to BSNL numbers usable during the day time.

BSNL to shutdown Unified Messaging Services such as Voice Mail Service, FAX Service and Email Service from 7th December 2015 onwards

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has decided to shutdown Unified Messaging Services (UMS) such as Voice Mail Service, FAX Service and Email Service from 7th December 2015 onwards. One of our readers has received an SMS notification from BSNL regarding the closure of Unified Messaging Services. BSNL informed that, the company will be discontinuing all unified messaging services from 07-12-2015 due to technical reasons / limitations.

BSNL offers Zero Installation Charges to attract new users from Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, and Chennai

Notices issued to BSNL, MTNL for Service Quality: Notices have been issued to the state-owned BSNL, MTNL and India Posts by the Telecom Ministry after Ravi Shankar Prasad, Communications and IT Minister of India made a personal note of the complaints from people regarding the service quality on social media since July. Mr Prasad has more than 4.65 lakh followers on Facebook. He received complaints from people which are related to three departments under his ministry.
