BSNL to start 3G in Jaisalmer in 3-4 months

JAISALMER: BSNL will offer 3G services here within the next 3-4 months and is setting up 38 towers for mobile connectivity, an official said.


In the next 3 to 4 months, BSNL's 3G network would be available for people of this border district, the company's chief general manager Rajneesh Kumar told reporters.

Can debate who did what to BSNL: Ravi Shankar Prasad

Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad has offered a debate in Rajya Sabha on call drops and the services and condition of state-owned BSNL and MTNL. After the CPM’s K N Balagopal raised the issue Thursday, Prasad said he wanted to “let the House know who did what to BSNL.” Balagopal alleged “someone in-house is playing into the hands of private players to finish BSNL and MTNL” and called for an inquiry.

Government ready for discussion on call drops: Ravi Shankar Prasad

NEW DLEHI: Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad today offered to discuss the issue of call drops and poor service by state-owned BSNL and MTNL in the Rajya Sabha.

Prasad made the offer after K N Balagopal (CPI-M) raised the issue of poor quality of service, call drops and non-continuous broadband on MTNL/BSNL network.

BSNL stops circulating obscene SMSs, finally

Following the boycott warning from Hurriyat faction led by Syed Ali Geelani, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) suspended circulation of obscene Short Messaging Services (SMSs) to its subscribers in Jammu and Kashmir from Monday.
General Manager BSNL, Kashmir, Saleem Beigh told Rising Kashmir that circulation of obscene SMSs to subscribers has been stopped and subscribers will not get such messages in future.
