BSNL to offer free WiFi services at more airports in India

New Delhi: State-run BSNL is working to provide WiFi services at more airports managed by Airports Authority of India.
"We approached AAI Chairman three months back for providing WiFi services. He actively responded to it. AAI has agreed to allow BSNL services and circulated information to all airports managed by them for allowing BSNL services," BSNL Chairman and Managing Director Anupam Shrivastava told PTI.

BSNL, MTNL do not return deposits

A large number of landline customers of state-run Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) and Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) feel cheated as they do not get the refund of the security deposit charged from them at the time of booking the connection.

Though the figures of BSNL could not be obtained, government figures say that MTNL, which has its operations in Delhi and Mumbai, had Rs 555.77 crore as security deposits from customers as on 31 March 2015.

In 2007, BSNL managed to revise salaries as it had registered a profit. In 2007-08, its net profit was ` 3,009 crore on an interest income of ` 4,004 crore that helped it claim a 25% hike in salaries.

TRAI consultation paper looks at private sector for BharatNet

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) consultation paper (pdf) for the implementation of BharatNet is looking for participation from the private sector where companies can build, own, generate income from the optical fibre network for some time before transferring it back into public ownership.
This is in addition to the three implementation models proposed by the DoT in April (pdf), after noting that the implementation of NOFN was not moving as per plans. At the time, the DoT also recommended rechristening the project to BharatNet.

BSNL sets aside Rs 7,700 as capex this year

New Delhi, Nov 17:  

State-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd has set aside Rs. 7,700 crore as capital expenditure in 2015-16 and will spend this on Next Generation Network (NGN), mobile phase 7 expansion, wi-fi, among others, its CMD Anupam Shrivastava has said.

The capital expenditure last year was Rs. 3,300 crore, he said.

जागरण संवाददाता, हल्द्वानी : इंटरनेट का हाईस्पीड देने के लिए भारत संचार निगम लिमिटेड ने सुपरट्रैक सर्विस देनी शुरू की है। इसके लिए एफटीटीएच यानी फाइबर टू द होम के तहत उपभोक्ताओं के घर तक कॉपर की बजाय सीधे फाइबर लाइन से कनेक्शन मिलेंगे। फाइबर लाइन के जरिये उपभोक्ताओं को इंटरनेट की पूरी स्पीड मिल सकेगी।

बीएसएनएल : उपभोक्ताओं को 4 जी सेवा देने की तैयारी में जुटा विभाग

समस्तीपुर : बीएसएनएल के उपभोक्ताओं को 4 जी सेवा से जोड़ने की तैयारियों में जुट गया है. जिले के मुख्य दूरभाष केंद्र को जल्द ही अगली पीढ़ी की तकनीक से जोड़ा जायेगा.

मुख्य दूरभाष केंद्र के साथ ऐसे सभी केंद्र जहां सीडॉट तकनीक पर सेवा दी जा रही है, उसे एनजीएन तकनीक से जोड़ा जायेगा. अगामी मार्च तक सभी सीडॉट आधारित दूरभाष केंद्रों को शामिल करने पर सहमति मिल गयी है. इन दूरभाष केद्रों में 4 जी तकनीक की सेवा की शुरुआत करने का मार्ग प्रशस्त हो सकेगा.

फ्री नाइट कॉलिंग की तैयारियों में जुटा बीएसएनएल

बीएसएनएल का ग्राहक सेवा केंद्र 12 की जगह 7.30 घंटे ही खुल रहा

बीएसएनएल ऑफिस के बाहर गुरुवार को ऑल इंडिया पेंशनर्स एसोसिएशन के आह्वान पर रिटायर्ड दूरसंचार कर्मियों ने पेंशन संबंधी फाइलें डीओटी से आगे बढ़ाने, पेंशनर्स को 78 प्रतिशत डीए का मूल पेंशन प्रकरणों में विलय करने, मेडिकल सुविधा चालू करने सहित अन्य मांगों को लेकर सुबह 10 से दोपहर 3 बजे तक धरना दिया। ऑल इंडिया पेंशनर्स वेलफेयर एसोसिएशन के सचिव प्रभाकर शर्मा ने बताया धरने के बाद कर्मचारियों ने जीएम के नाम कार्यालय में ज्ञापन सौंपा। धरने में रमेशचंद्र शर्मा, अमृतलाल राठौर, एसपी तारे, रमेश मोहन, बीएज अटनेरिया, एसबी शिंदे, डीआर पालीवाल, दशरथ नीमा, ओपी श्रीवास्तव सहित 40 से अधिक रिटायर्ड कर्मचारी मौजूद थे।

शिमला: भारत संचार निगम लिमिटेड दीपावली के शुभ अवसर पर अपने प्रीपेड मोबाइल उपभोक्ताओं के लिए प्लान में विशेष छूट प्रदान कर रहा है। इस दौरान बीएसएनएल नए एवं एमएनपी ग्राहकों के लिए प्रति सैकेंड प्लान 36 रुपए व प्रति मिनट प्लान 37 रुपए प्रदान कर रहा है।

फेसबुक और बीएसएनएल मिलकर गावों में लगाएंगे 100 वाईफाई हॉटस्पॉट

नई दिल्ली: सोशल नेटवर्क वेबसाइट फेसबुक देश के ग्रामीण हिस्सों में सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र की कंपनी बीएसएनएल के साथ भागीदारी में 100 वाईफाई साइट के प्रायोजन पर हर साल पांच करोड़ रपये खर्च करेगी. बीएसएनएल के चेयरमैन व प्रबंध निदेशक अनुपम श्रीवास्तव ने यह जानकारी दी.

उन्होंने कहा, ‘फेसबुक ने पश्चिमी व दक्षिणी भारत में गांवों में 100 वाईफाई हॉटस्पाट के प्रायोजन के लिए हमारे साथ भागीदारी की है. वे हर हॉटस्पाट के लिए सालाना पांच लाख रुपये का भुगतान बीएसएनएल बैंडविड्थ मद में करेंगे.’ ये हॉटस्पाट बीएसएनल द्वारा चयनित कंपनी क्वाड जेन स्थापित कर रही है.

बीएसएनएल ने दिवाली पर विशेष वाउचर पेश किए

सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र की दूरसंचार कंपनी बीएसएनएल ने दिवाली के मद्देनजर अपने प्रीपेड ग्राहकों के लिए विशेष शुल्क दर वाउचर (एसटीवी) शुक्रवार को पेश किए। कंपनी के बयान में कहा गया है कि 35 रुपये के एसटीवी में ग्राहक दो दिन तक किसी भी नेटवर्क पर लोकल व एसटीडी काल 20 पैसे प्रति मिनट की दर से कर सकेगा।

The validly of the new STV will be 60 days. BSNL has also brought out another new combo voucher at `239 offering 1 GB data at 3G speed plus talk value of `100. The STV will have a validity of 14 days.

A month after posting, BSNL CGM finally takes charge

Thiruvananthapuram: Bringing an end to a long-drawn power tussle in BSNL Kerala, L Anatharam has finally assumed office as the chief general manager of the company's telecom circle in the state, an official statement said here on Wednesday.

He took charge after the Supreme Court set aside a Kerala HC order which quashed the telecom major's decision to remove MSS Rao from the post of circle head.

Dailyhunt plans to tie up with BSNL

BENGALURU: News and ebooks mobile application Dailyhunt is in talks with telecom major BSNL to facilitate a tie-up so that users can make online payments for buying e-books, its co-founder and CEO Virendra Gupta today said.
"We are in touch with BSNL and I expect the deal to come about by December this year or January next year," he told PTI here.

Internet via balloons: Google may join hands with BSNL for testing

Internet firm Google is working with the government on a pilot project for providing Internet connectivity by using large balloons.

Facebook, BSNL team up to create 100 WiFi zones in rural India

NEW DELHI: US social networking major Facebook has partnered state-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. (BSNL) to create 100 WiFi hotspots in rural India to drive digital penetration in the country. Facebook is investing Rs 5 crore per annum for buying bandwidth from BSNL in this joint initiative that also includes IT infrastructure services providers such as Quad Zen and Trimax for equipment and fibre deployment, BSNL chairman and managing director Anupam Shrivastava told ET.
