TRICHY: By December 31, the Trichy airport will provide free wi-fi to all passengers. Network provider BSNL is set to provide the services at the airport and the wi-fi will be available for free for the first half hour for the convenience of the passengers. The decision to provide wi-fi was taken at the airport advisory committee meeting.
According to airport authorities, the airport is in a total makeover mode and the wi-fi facility will be similar to the ones that is being provided at other airports abroad.
The first half hour will be free for the passenger and then the user has to register themselves. After registration, they have to avail a card from the ISP for seamless usage of the service. The airport authorities are planning to procure all the equipment required for setting up the wi-fi facility in the airport, aided by BSNL.
