Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has decided to roll out high end 4G (fourth generation) data services and Next Generation Network (NGN) voice services in the state soon.
Interacting to media persons here today, General Manager District Telecom circle of BSNL, Mr. M. C. Singh said that it was already offering NGN services in Shimla and Chhota Shimla under Shimla Switching Area (SSA).
NGN is a new innovation in the voice service which is only available in the advanced nation like US. Slump in voice services would be benefited from NGN as its wireless and land services are to be linked soon.
Tender has been awarded to M/s Trimax to provide Fourth Generation Data services by BSNL as it would establish a separate Wifi and hot spot channel after spending Rs 7000 Cr in the country. Mr. Singh said that it would be able to target 5G services by year 2020.
