What is GATE?

An average salary of INR 16,400-40,500 is offered. The eligibility for applying apart from your GATE score is an engineering degree; BE/ B.Tech equivalent in Telecommunication Engineering or Electronics Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Radio Engineering or Computer Science Engineering or Instrumentation Engineering or M. Sc. Electronics/ M. Sc. Computer Science etc.

2) Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL)

This is listed in Fortune 500, a public-sector company dealing in the energy sector, with refining, distribution, and exploration of oil and oil products.

Candidates are selected into this PSU through GATE scores, on Management Trainee post initially. A salary of INR 24,900- 50,500 is offered and the CTC can go up to INR 11 Lakhs.

B.E./ B.Tech / B.Sc Engineering is preferred to apply for the post along with GATE scores. Final selection is done based on GATE scores followed by personal interview and group discussions.

3) Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL)

One of the largest PSUs in India is BHEL. It deals in power generation and transmission, oil and gas, Renewable Energy etc. They have multiple manufacturing and service divisions, regional offices and project Sites spread across India. 4) Bharat Broadband Network Limited (BBNL)

BBNL, set up by the Indian government, looks into the management and daily operation of the National Optical Fiber Network, so as to provide connectivity across villages and towns in our country.

Oh, a graduation degree in Civil or Electrical or Electronics and Telecommunications or Mechanical or Chemical engineering is also looked into.

9) Haryana Power Utilities Limited (HPU)

This is a state government company. And they look out for GATE cleared candidates for their assistant engineer posts. The salary for this ranges from INR 9,300- 34,800 along with grade pay. Those with an engineering degree in Electrical or Mechanical or Information Technology or Electronics are eligible to apply along with latest GATE scores.

10) Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL)

Another Fortune 500 company to feature on this list, IOCL operates one of the largest networks of refineries, pipelines, petrochemicals etc. They recruit GATE passes out candidates. For the post of Graduate Engineers with a salary structure of  INR 24,900-50,500. Those with an engineering degree in Chemical or Civil or Computer Science or Electronics Communication or Instrumentation are eligible to apply.

11) IRCON International Limited

This is a government company under the Railway Ministry and looks into construction of infrastructure for railways, highways, etc. Now, GATE passes out candidates are always their first preference for selection into their job profiles. Executive Trainee is one prominent job, that offers a good salary of INR 20,600- 40,500. Those with Civil or Electrical Engineering degrees can apply with their valid GATE scores.
