New Offer: Earn 6 paise for making outgoing calls from BSNL network

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) continues to surprise us with attractive offers on its tariff plans, the introduction of new plans, and revision of old plans. The State-owned telco has recently launched a cashback offer that looks like an aggressive approach to gain a competitive advantage over Reliance Jio.

The telco has started offering a cashback of 6 paise for making calls of five minutes or more through BSNL wireline, BSNL broadband, and BSNL FTTH network. As per the company, the cashback offer is made to help BSNL subscribers experience the upgraded Next Generation Network and improved quality of voice calls over the wireline.
In early October, Reliance Jio announced a 6 paise per minute charge to subscribers for making calls to non-Jio networks such as Airtel and Vodafone Idea. The decision was made following the directions from TRAI to defer the implementation of zero interconnect usage charge (IUC) till January 2020 and levy a charge of 6 paise per minute as IUC. The announcement was disappointing because Jio announced free calls for a lifetime during the launch and did not charge anything to recover IUC at a time when it was even higher at 14 paise per minute.
Apart from the cashback offer, BSNL announced the launch of its online portal that can be accessed by subscribers to book a fresh Bharat Fibre connection. The booking request can also be made through the toll-free number of BSNL.
