BSNL revises its prepaid plans to offer more data to users

While other telecom companies are busy focussing on longer-validity plans, state-owned telecom operator BSNL wants its users to take a look at its shorter-validity plans. The company has revamped three of its prepaid plans to offer more data to its prepaid users at old prices.

According to a TelecomTalk report, BSNL has revised Rs 14, Rs 19, Rs 40 and Rs 57 plans. While the price of these plans remain same, the amount of data has been increased.

BSNL's Rs 14 plan now offers 1GB data per day instead of 110MB. The Rs 29 plan also now offers 1GB data per day for three days instead of 150MB. Lastly, BSNL has also revised Rs 57 and Rs 40 plans to offer 1GB data per day.

Separately, BSNL has also revised Rs 155 and Rs 198 prepaid plans to offer more data. The Rs 155 plan now offers 2GB data per day instead of 1.5GB which totals to 34GB data. BSNL Rs 198 plan offers now offers 2.5GB data per day.

BSNL recently also launched Rs 99 and Rs 319 plans to take on Jio's unlimited voice call offer. BSNL is giving unlimited voice calls at Rs 319 with no daily limit on voice calls. Subscribers buying this recharge plans can enjoy unlimited voice calling across India. Roaming is also free. The plans comes with a validity of 90 days.

BSNL Rs 319 plan now competes with Jio's Rs 349 plan that offers unlimited voice calling, free roaming, Jio apps subscription, and 1.5GB high speed data for 70 days.

BSNL Rs 99 plan offers free voice calling along with free caller tune service for 26 days validity. The plan competes with Jio Rs 98 plan that offers 2GB data along with unlimited voice calls for 28 days.

Other BSNL plans that are new and compete against Jio are Rs 248 plan that offers 153GB of data with a capping of 3GB data per day. The validity of this plan is of 51 days. It is available only till April 30.

In a separate BSNL Rs 118 plan, user will get 1GB data along with personalised ring tone back service. This plan is valid for 28 days. BSNL also has a Rs 187 plan that offers unlimited voice calls and 1GB data per day for 28 days.
