BSNL revises CDMA prepaid tariff after Service Tax hike

The Government of India introduced Swachh Bharat cess of 0.5 percent on service tax with effect from November 2015. All the telecom service, which were charged with 14 percent Service Tax, would be increased to 14.5 percent after levying Swachh Bharat cess. On account of increased service tax, BSNL has revised its CDMA prepaid offering across all the circles.

BSNL has increased the MRP of its CDMA Plan vouchers, STVs and Data STVs by Rs 1 – Rs 3, while validity and benefits offered would remain unchanged.
BSNL has also said that all Top Up/C-Top Up/Flexi Top Up vouchers will be charged with a service tax of 14.5 percent instead of 14.0 percent.
