In earlier, Tamilnadu circle introduced 4 types of circle Landline Plans (LL

BSNL starts charging Service Tax on STVs activated via SMS, following private Operators?
BSNL has prominently won the hearts of many users regarding the SMS
based activation of STVs via its toll-free number 53733. BSNL did not
charge the service tax on STVs as a user is activating them from main
account balance, since the balance is credited only after levying
service tax.
This was a good move followed by BSNL till now and was widely hailed by many of its users. Looks like the scenario is now changing, as reported by a user from Karnataka circle, BSNL started charging service tax on its SMS based STV activation facility.

BSNL launches faster broadband plans for the first time in Visakhapatnam
For the first time in Visakhapatnam, state-run telecom company,
Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has launched of its new unlimited
plans under Very-hit-bit-rate Digital Subscriber Line (VDSL) for
broadband users.
The company is providing three unlimited plans 1745 VDSL, 2845 VDSL and 3445 VDSL with bandwidth (download speed) up to 8 mbps, 16 mbps and 24 mbps respectively. There is no limit on the download/upload by subscribers and they will be given free e-mail IDs/space and a static IP address at an additional charge of Rs.1,800 a year for 1745 plan.
The company is providing three unlimited plans 1745 VDSL, 2845 VDSL and 3445 VDSL with bandwidth (download speed) up to 8 mbps, 16 mbps and 24 mbps respectively. BSNL revises regional Landline plans in Tamil Nadu Circle
BSNL has revamped the regional Landline plans for subscribers in the
TN circle. This revision will be currently done only for the circle
specific plans.
LL Basic 180 The basic landline plan which costs Rs.180 used to earlier offer only 25 free local onnet calls and 25 free off net call has been changed and now BSNL is offering free 180 minutes for BSNL to BSNL local calls and further has also slashed the local+STD calls to Rs 1.20 to all networks.
Salem LL Basic 250 is an excellent plan that offers 100 onnet calls and 80 calls to other network. The intra network calling rates are at a modest Rs 1.00 and calls to other network will be charged at Rs.1.20.

BSNL introduces new STV at Rs 84 to offers all STD calls @35p/min
BSNL today announced launch of two new STVs for its prepaid GSM users, to be available in all telecom circles starting from 28 November-2014. The first STV is priced at Rs 84
which will allow prepaid users to make all STD calls at the rate of 35p
per minutes and it will come with a rational longer validity of 84
days.
Minimal growth in September in broadband usage: TRAI
Even as there was growth of just 1.92 per cent in broadband between
the end of August and the end of September, there was a decline of 4.31
per cent in the fixed wireless subscribers (Wi-Fi, Wi-Max,
Point-to-Point Radio & VSAT).
According to reports received by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) from the service providers, the number of broadband subscribers increased from 74.31 million at the end of August to 75.73 million at the end of September.

BSNL revised EVDO Prepaid Plans, Now 200% Extra Data
BSNL has revised EVDO prepaid plans across India.
Now get up to 400% extra data with same exiting validity & speed.

KOLKATA: Bharat Sanchar Nigam's (BSNL) interim chairman and managing
director, AN Rai, has applied for the position of member at Telecom
Disputes Settlement & Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT), a slot that has
been vacant for nearly two years.
His move comes at a time when the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet is slated to shortly name a full-fledged chairman and managing director for the state-run telecom company to succeed RK Upadhyay, who retired in June. Though Rai has been officiating as BSNL's interim chairman since July, its director of consumer mobility, Anupam Shrivastava, is seen as the top contender for the CMD's job. More so, since both the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) have supported Shrivastava for the position.

BSNL-Inmarsat Satellite Phone Services Set to Take Off
Soon, India will get satellite-based telecom services with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd signing a deal with London-based Inmarsat. BSNL
has already taken the required licence from the Department of Telecom
and identified Ghaziabad for locating the satellite gateway. The gateway
will be built at a cost of USD8 million.
Through
this deal, BSNL will be able to offer satellite-based broadband
services using Inmarsat technologies in remote areas of the country.
BSNL will also be able to meet the needs of the Defence forces.

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) today announced major changes to be effective mostly from 1-12-2014. It has hiked tariffs of some broadband plans popular in rural as well as urban areas.
BSNL is hiking FMC of its two rural plans BBG Rural combo 250 and BB Home Rural combo UL 550 by Rs 100 so new FMC of these two plans will be Rs 350 and Rs 650 respectively.
The FMC of BBG 275 is hiked by Rs 100 so now customers have to pay new FMC of Rs 375 starting 1-12-2014.

In view of rationalization, Telecom Major Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited

Broadband and Landline plans in Maharashtra : Revised w.e.f. 01/11/2014
We recently brought you the story of BSNL revising two of its BB and LL plans in Maharashtra. Well they have now revised the tariffs of even more plans. Here’s a list of changes:
- BBG 275 has been revised to BBG325 and the fixed monthly charge has increased from Rs 275 to Rs 325.
- BB Home UL545 has been revised to BB Home UL645 with the FMC going to Rs 645 from Rs 545.
- BB Home Combo UL675 has now become BB Home Combo UL775 and the fixed monthly charge has increased to Rs 775 from Rs 675.
- BB Home Combo ULD800 has now become BB Home Combo ULD899 and the fixed monthly charge has increased to Rs 899 from Rs 899.
- BB Home Combo ULD900 has now become BB Home Combo ULD1000 and the fixed monthly charge has increased to Rs 1000 from Rs 900.
- BB Home Combo ULD9 has now become BB Home Combo ULD1099 and the fixed monthly charge has increased to Rs 1099 from Rs 999.

BSNL introduces new FTTH broadband plans for the Gram Panchayats
coming under the NOFN project. The new plan comes at a rental of Rs.7225
with unlimited downloads at flat speed of 10Mbps. Even there is no FUP
and the speed remains steady till the end of the month. BSNL is also not
charging any security deposits for this plan. Users also have an annual
payment option with a one month rental waiver.
