In a significant milestone for Andhra Pradesh, Bharat Sanchar Nigam
Limited (BSNL) is preparing to offer data at higher speeds in the next
ten days.
Andhra Pradesh Circle of the state-owned telecom operator was recently connected to the Gateway GPRS Support (GGS) Node in Chennai, which will be commissioned in ten days, making data speeds soar further.
The Nigam has recently doubled its data volume in the State from 40 TB a day to a whopping 80 TB a day, all within four months.
“The commissioning of the GGS will ensure still higher speeds in our circle,” A.P. Rao, BSNL’s Chief General Manager (Andhra Pradesh) told the media, while explaining the company’s performance during the recently-ended financial year.
“In this backdrop, the expected rise in data speeds will augur well for our customers,” Mr.Rao said.
He put A.P. Circle among the top three in India in terms of quality of calls.

‘Leader of Wi-Fi’
BSNL, which is already upbeat on receiving the ‘Leader of Wi-Fi’ award at the ‘My India - My Wi-Fi India Summit’ conducted by DigiAnalysis, has also been adjudged by Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) as the top quality network in the State, after an independent survey was conducted in Vijayawada.“In this backdrop, the expected rise in data speeds will augur well for our customers,” Mr.Rao said.
