Indian Telecom Major, PSU BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited) launched new promotional offer providing Free Prepaid Mobile SIM (32K/64K),
in support to ‘Government's mega scheme JAN-DHAN YOJNA eradicating
financial untouchability by providing bank accounts to poor’.
Prime Minister's Scheme for People's Wealth “Jan Dhan Yojana” is an
ambitious scheme for comprehensive financial inclusion launched by the
Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi on 28 August 2014, announced on
15 August 2014 with a target to provide 'universal access to banking
facilities' with Basic Banking Accounts, RuPay Debit card with inbuilt
accident insurance cover of Rs. 1 lakh and RuPay Kisan Card at first,
Micro Insurance & Pension etc.. in next phase.
To support for this most ambitious scheme “JAN-DHAN YOJNA”, telecom gaint BSNL offers Free SIM 32K or 64K under Mobile Services for all Account Holders who have opened their accounts in Nationalized Banks under Prime Minister’s “JAN-DHAN YOJNA” scheme.
BSNL Free SIM can be obtained from nearest BSNL Customer Service Centers (CSCs) on submitting relevant Bank Pass Book opened under JAN-DHAN YOJNA along with POI & POA, and this new scheme has been available as a promotional offer for a period of 90days from 8th September 2014 to 6th December 2014.
Shri Anupam Shrivastava, Director(CM), BSNL Board expressed that, the scheme has been launched as part of BSNL’s social commitment for providing communication facility to each & every citizen of the country. The customers may register mobile number with their bank to receive alerts and updates concerning to their bank account."
JAN-DHAN YOJNA customer, after getting BSNL Free SIM, has to subscribe with any existing BSNL Prepaid Plans to enjoy the mobile services with applicability of all facilities(STV, Roaming Free, ISD) equal to normal customer under BSNL GSM Mobile Services.
