BSNL launches prepaid plans under Rs 100, extends validity on Rs 699 offer

 Government-owned telco Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has extended the validity of its Rs 699 promotional plan again. The prepaid plan which has seen many extensions in the past has now been extended till September 2021. BSNL offers 0.5GB daily high-speed data with the plan after which the speed will be reduced to 80 Kbps. The plan is ideal for users who want to make calls as it offers unlimited voice calls and 100SMS per day without any FUP restrictions with a long validity period of 180 days till the end of September after which the validity will again be reduced to 160 days. The telco also offers free PRBT or BSNL Tunes for the first 60 days.

The development was first reported by Kerala Telecom. BSNL Rs 699 prepaid plan is available to all the existing and new prepaid mobile customers. BSNL customers can activate the plan by sending SMS in the format PLAN BSNL699 to 123. Customers can also dial on USSD short code *444*699# to activate the same. Existing customers also need to ensure that their prepaid account balance is above Rs 699 before sending SMS or calling the code.

Further, BSNL has decided to reduce the prepaid vouchers priced at Rs 75 and Rs 94 and will add special tariff vouchers priced at the same denomination. The new combo special tariff vouchers Rs 75 offers 2GB free data to be consumed within 60 days and 100 minutes free voice any-net in home LSA and National roaming including Mumbai and Delhi for 60 days and free BSNL default tune for 60 days.

The combo STV at Rs 94 will give 3GB free data for a validity of 90 days and 100 domestic free minutes to any network in Home LSA and national roaming in Mumbai and Delhi for 90 days with BSNL default tunes for 60 days. All freebies calls will be charged at 30 paise per minute.

Meanwhile, BSNL is also giving free 4G SIM cards to new as well as MNP port-in customers till September 30, 2021. The offer was first introduced in April this year and was meant to expire in June. It now seems that the telco has extended the free 4G SIM offer till September. However, as of now, the offer is available in the Kerala circle and might also extend to other telecom circles.
