BSNL Launches STV 1,999 Prepaid Recharge Plan: Offers 730GB Data, Unlimited Calling for 365 Days

The state-owned network provider, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), is offering new plans and revisions to its prepaid plans, in the recent times. Along with the latest additions to the portfolio of prepaid plans, joins a new prepaid offer that charges Rs 1,999 a year. This yearly plan is introduced as a promotional offer and is available only to Chennai and Tamil Nadu telecom circles.

The plan comprises both data and call benefits. The data benefit coming with the plan gives 2GB Internet data a day, which sums to 730GB for a year. At the same time, the plan is providing call benefits, through which the prepaid plan is offering free and unlimited calls to local, STD, and national numbers across the country. The BSNL plan of Rs 1,999 is introduced to compete with the leading networks’ (Airtel and Reliance Jio) prepaid plan of the same range; But, BSNL offers looks economical when compared to the other two telecom companies.

BSNL’s Rs 1,999 prepaid plan benefits:

Aforesaid, the government telecom firm has announced this Rs 1,999 plan only as a promotional offer for two telecom circles. As a consequence, the offer can be availed only till September 22 of 2018. The data benefit of 730GB is split to offer 2GB a day for a period of one year. According to the data benefit of the plan, one GB of data is provided at the cost of Rs 2.73 through the Rs 1,999 prepaid recharge plan.
The same charge is applicable for other benefits that come along with the plan. To elaborate the call benefits, the plan is offering unlimited and free local, STD, and national calls with no roaming charges and no FUP (fair usage policy) charges. Not to mention, the plan also offers SMS benefit, which provides 100 free SMSes every day that amounts to 36,500 free messages throughout the period of one year. This plan will not be available for New Delhi and Mumbai telecom circles if the plan is getting launched across the nation. Because, the government telecom network of New Delhi and Mumbai is currently provided through MTNL (Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited), and not BSNL.
As BSNL has stated clearly, the new Rs 1,999 prepaid recharge plan is applicable only to the telecom circles of Chennai and Tamil Nadu. Other telecom networks may need to wait for getting this offer, as there is no information from the telecom company about the idea of releasing this Rs 1,999 offer to other telecom circles across the country.

Reliance Jio’s Rs 1,999 prepaid plan:

Reliance Jio also owns the same range of prepaid plan, which charges the same cost of Rs 1,999. But, the Jio-offered plan is valid only for 180 days. On the contrary, BSNL’s 1,999 plan is offering the same range of plan for a year-long validity. BSNL easily gains a pro point over the new telecom force of the country, Reliance Jio.

Moreover, Reliance Jio is offering 125GB data through its Rs 1,999 plan for 180 days. It is also offering call benefits and message benefits through this plan. The call benefits include no FUP, free and unlimited national, STD, and local calls. The message benefit of the plan comprises 100 free SMSes on a daily basis. Also, the Jio recharge enables free access to Jio-dedicated suite of apps, such as JioMusic, JioMovies, MyJio etc., and JioTunes that sets free caller tune to the device.
