BSNL rolls out fibre broadband with data, voice services

The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, Puduchery, has launched a state-of-the-art fibre broadband facility with data and voice services on revenue share model with a BSNL authorised franchisee.
The service is built on the Optical Fibre Network Technology concept with a host of value added services from the Next Generation Network (NGN) Switches.

With the launch of this service, the broadband service would be available with a speed up to 100 mbps while also providing clear and undistorted voice call facility, the first of its kind, which is available at present only with BSNL.
The other special features of this service are video conferencing bandwidth on demand, video surveillance facility, games and videos on demand. The fibre broadband connectivity provides all communication facilities by using broadband and landline network with voice, data and video communications irrespective of distance and location.
Marshal Antony Leo, Chief General Manager, BSNL, Tamil Nadu Telecom Circle, Chennai, launched the service. P.V. Karunanithi, Principal General Manager, BSNL, Tamil Nadu Circle, Jayakumar Jayavelu, General Manager, BSNL, Puducherry, and representative of the BSNL franchisee, M/s Bluenet BB Services participated.
Six customers of Lawspet area, where the service has been rolled out to begin with, were given the service at the launch.

SIM cards on offer

The plans, ranging from ₹249 to ₹1,999 are presently available for this service in BSNL, Puducherry. As a launch offer for a limited period, BSNL, Puducherry, is offering three SIM cards with unlimited free-calling and 1 gb data per day free of cost, for those customers who register for the Fibre Broadband under Plan-1199. To start with, this service would be available in all areas of Lawspet and part of Mettupalayam. Based on demand, it would be extended to other areas in a phased manner.
