BSNL Deploys Fiber Broadband Services on Revenue Sharing Basis in Puducherry

 BSNL Puducherry circle has officially launched the premium Fiber Broadband network with data and voice services on a revenue sharing model. The state-owned company has established a partnership with a BSNL Authorized Franchisee in Puducherry to implement the new technology.


Marshal Antony Leo, Chief General Manager, BSNL, Tamil Nadu has launched the new service, which will bring new dimensions to the mobile communication segment. During the launch event, six lucky customers of Lawspet area were provided with the required services on the spot. To begin with, the new fiber Broadband network will be available in Lawspet and part of Mettupalayam on demand. Leo added that the service will be extended to other parts in a phased manner.

The newly launched Fiber Broadband network is developed using the Optical Fiber Network Technology, which guarantees value-added services with the help of the Next Generation Network (NGN) Switches. According to BSNL, the new Fiber Broadband network service guarantees a speed of up to 100Mbps with clear and distortion free voice call facility.

In addition to premium voice communication services, the new Fiber Broadband network also offers video conferencing bandwidth, video surveillance facility, games, and videos. However, the company revealed that some of the features are available only on demand.

As a customer, you will be able to enjoy premium Broadband and landline connectivity coupled with voice, data, and video. The optic fiber technology is currently employed by several countries and found to be an effective way to provide trouble-free services.

It took few years for India to adopt and implement the Fiber Broadband network because of various factors and regulatory approvals. BSNL will soon implement the new technology in other parts of India based on the customer feedback.

To recall, BSNL deployed 4G services in certain parts of Kerala and Karnataka. The company is gearing up to install towers exclusive for 4G connectivity.
