Reservation system was not followed in recruiting people through outsourcing in BSNL

Ahmedabad West bjp mp The Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Welfare of the Underprivileged and Tribals, headed by Girith Premjibai Solanki, has pointed out that the reservation system was not followed in recruiting people through outsourcing in BSNL.

This Parliamentary Standing Committee has 30 members. Most of them are bjp MPs. The panel, in its recommendation to the Ministry of Telecommunications, stressed that bsnl should make proper use of the reservation in hiring people through private contractors.

BSNL is hiring some employees through contractors. However, the parliamentary standing committee said that bsnl should implement the reservation on the basis that it is the primary service provider.

In response to this, the government on behalf of bsnl has been monitoring whether bsnl, on the basis of being the main employer, is paying contract employees on time and ensuring the safety of their work under the Labor Act.

At the same time, it has been reported that the SC, st does not issue any order requiring the contractors to hire people following the reservation procedures when hiring employees.

Focusing on this response, the Parliamentary Standing Committee noted that the present Modi government is not honest in enforcing reservations for those employed by contractors.

A government must act for the oppressed people. The reservation for them must be implemented honestly. The panel recommended that reservations be duly secured, whether it be direct assignments or work offered by contractors.

The government pays a lump sum for employees hired by contractors. The package is provided with bsnl Authorization. This means that bsnl is responsible for implementing the reservation system for these tasks.

It is noteworthy that in a recent interview with minister Virendra Kumar, contract employees refused to answer a question regarding the implementation of reservations for outsourced employees.
