Several telecommunication companies have brought work from home offers
to assist users through these times.
Government-owned telco Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has reintroduced the Work at Home plan for its users till July 26th. The plan has been reintroduced as a promotional offer, Only Tech noted. The original plan expired on June 20th, and the announcement for a reintroduced plan came a week after it.
The work-at-home plan is available in all circles except for the Andaman and Nicobar circles, a tweet by BSNL Chennai read.
The plan is available to users having a broadband connection. New subscribers will get 10 Mbps speed till 5GB data per day. After 5GB is reached, the speed is reduced to 1 Mbps. The download and upload limit is unlimited with customers getting 1 free e-mail ID and 1 GB space. The ISD charges with calling benefits are the same as the existing ISD tariffs, and calling benefits are the same as the existing landline plan.
BSNL '5 pe 6' cashback offer extended till 31st July
BSNL has also extended its 6 paise cashback offer till 31st July. The offer dubbed as 5 pe 6 has seen multiple monthly extensions since last year.
The offer was introduced last year and was supposed to expire on December 31, 2019.
BSNL Karnataka in a tweet wrote, “Dear customer, BSNL has extended the 5 pe 6 cashback offer until 31st July 2020 for Landline/BB/FTTH customers. In this pandemic situation of COVID-19, please stay safe at home and call your family, friends, and near and dear ones and avail the cashback offer too.”
The offer can be availed by users for calls for more than 5 minutes. Users can avail of a maximum cashback of Rs 50 per month. Through this offer, BSNL customers get a cashback of 6 paise by making a voice call for more than 5 minutes. The offer can also be availed by sending SMS. It is available to BSNL wireline, broadband, and fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) subscribers.
The offer was brought in 2019 as a response to Reliance Jio’s introduction of IUC charge which was also 6 paise per minute.
To activate the BSNL cashback offer, type "ACT 6 paisa" in the SMS compose box and send it to 9478053334. The money is credited in the form of cashback to the subscriber.
