BSNL
is on the streak of revising its old high-end plans lately. This time
around, the INR 999 has got a revision and is now offering 3.1 GB data
per day along with unlimited calling benefits.
The validity of the plan remains 181 days, which translates to a total of 561.1 GB data for the entire validity period. Earlier, the plan offered only 1 GB data per day and the additional 2.1 GB data comes as a result of the latest upgrade. In addition to this, BSNL has also extended the data value to some other plans as well.
The state-run telco has been actively rolling out new STVs and revising the old ones to compete with the private players in the telecom industry. While Vodafone Idea and Airtel are remodeling their 4G strategy by upgrading the infrastructure, BSNL is offering better calling and data incentives with its existing plans.
Furthermore,
BSNL has also revised some of its existing STVs to provide more data to
the subscribers. These STVs also offer unlimited data calling benefits
as well. BSNL has covered pretty much all the segments with the new
revision wave. The telco has something for every user subscribed to
different recharge plans. It is worth noting that the unlimited voice
calling benefits is not applicable for numbers in Delhi and Mumbai
circles.
The telecom operator is aggressively working on its 4G network and if all goes well, the service will be up and running within the next six months. In the meantime, BSNL is also bringing changes in its postpaid segment, something which is not quite heard of. The operator now allows to carry forward the unused data to the next month’s benefits. BSNL is moving forward with new offerings and upgrades to keep the existing users busy and also to get new ones onboard.

Revised BSNL Prepaid Recharge Plans
The additional 2.1 GB data offering is not limited to the INR 999 plan, there are several other plans which are eligible for the upgrade. If you are subscribed to any of the prepaid plans ranging from INR 186 to INR 666, you will receive an extra 2.1 GB on top of the existing data limit. However, the validity of the plans remains the same. To recall, the INR 186 plan is valid for 28 days and now offers a total of 3.1 GB, while the INR 666 prepaid recharge plan offers 3.6 GB data per day after the upgrade, for a period of 129 days. The FUP speed after crossing the limit is 40 Kbps. The data bump on all the plans expires on January 31. Earlier, BSNL rolled out a similar offer to add more data to the existing plans and the offer ended in September. The new plan is a follow up to the earlier offer and we expect the company to come up with something even better after this one ends.BSNL to Launch its 4G service Soon
BSNL offers great STVs and has managed to keep its user base intact over the years. However, betting on the 2G and the 3G domain for long is not wise when the market is all set to ride the 5G wave soon. BSNL is a little late to join the bandwagon, but it’s getting aggressive with its 4G strategy. The telecom operator is reportedly testing its 4G network in a few Southern circles. According to reports, the telco has registered a download speed of around 20 Mbps during the speed test. In order to serve 4G services, the telco is reportedly planning to upgrade over 250 telecom towers in several circles across the country. The telecom operator is aggressively working on its 4G network and if all goes well, the service will be up and running within the next six months.
