Ninong Ering writes to Centre over ‘poor’ BSNL network in Arunachal Pradesh

Itanagar: Lok Sabha MP from Arunachal Pradesh Ninong Ering in a letter to Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Communications Manoj Sinha, apprised him about the ‘poor’ BSNL
network in various locations in the state. In his letter, Ering said it is further affected due to disturbances caused to optical fiber networks by road expansion works under Trans-Arunachal Highway (TAH) and other projects. He requested for an alternative model of telecom connectivity like microwave networks and satellite systems in the areas, under the ‘Digital India’ programme. The Congress MP from Arunachal East Parliamentary Constituency further added that all Telecom Service Providers (TSPs) including BSNL need to increase bandwidth 6 GHz microwave systems and quality telecom services in remote areas of Arunachal Pradesh. He requested the minister to consider waiving off spectrum charges of 6 GHz/7 GHz microwave systems and satellite systems to improve telecom projects, till TAH and 2 lane/4 lane projects are completed in the state.
