BSNL starts offering data carry forward facility to postpaid users: Report

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has been trying really hard to compete with private telcos in the Indian telecommunication industry and since the introduction of Reliance Jio, BSNL has also started offering cheaper data and voice calling benefits to its users in the prepaid segment.
Moreover, when it comes to the postpaid segment, the state-owned telco also has some competitive combo offers but now, a new report suggests that BSNL will soon be offering data carry forward facility to its postpaid users.
According to a report by TelecomTalk, after witnessing a huge demand from its user base, BSNL has started offering data carry forward facility to its postpaid users, however, the service is currently available with the BSNL Rs. 525 postpaid plan in Kolkata circle, while the plan comes with 80GB of data as well as a carry forward option up to 200GB.
It should be noted that the BSNL Rs. 525 postpaid plan was earlier offering 15GB of data per month, but it has been revised to offer 80GB of monthly data. Apart from Kolkata, BSNL is still providing 15GB of high-speed data per month in other circles. As for users in Kolkata, they will also get the carry forward option up to 200GB apart from unlimited voice calls to all users on any network, including Delhi and Mumbai circles along with 100 SMS per day.

After the 80GB monthly data limit is exhausted, users will be charged at 40 Kbps while there is also a security deposit for getting a BSNL postpaid connection which is Rs. 500 for local+STD services, Rs. 2,000 for local+STD+ISD and Rs 5,000 for local+STD+ISD+International Roaming services as part of the BSNL postpaid plan.
