BSNL, the No 1 Internet Service Operator in India
has launched a new FTTH broadband plan of Rs 875 in Kerala circle.
However, this plan is not available for all the residents of Kerala
circle, instead, this plan is designed exclusively for Akshaya e-Kendras of Kerala State IT Mission. Introduced with the moniker, KL Akshaya ULD 875,
it offers a download speed of up to 10 Mbps along with a monthly FUP
limit of 120GB. But there’s a catch with this plan as an Akshaya
e-Kendra have to hire this plan for a minimum period of one year.
BSNL is also offering this broadband plan with annual payment option at Rs 9,625. The state-run telco will also be waiving off the security deposit amount, security deposit amount for modem and installation charges. However, BSNL will collect an amount of Rs 90 every month as part of modem monthly charges.
Coming back to the Rs 875 FTTH broadband plan, it offers high-speed data of 10 Mbps up to 120GB, followed by an after FUP speed of 2 Mbps which doesn’t have any FUP limit. Also, do make a note that this plan will not provide any voice calling benefits as it’s not meant for home subscribers.
In Kerala state, there are 42 Akshaya e-Kendras, and each centre offers several public services. It’s the Kerala government’s initiative started way back in the year 2002 and still going strong even after 16 years since its inception.
And it’s a good move from BSNL to offer a dedicated Fiber Broadband plan for this e-Kendras. In Kerala circle alone, BSNL has over one crore of mobile subscribers and also has a massive presence in the broadband segment. For normal residents, BSNL is offering FTTH broadband plans with 50 Mbps download speed.
