BSNL now offers 375GB data without any daily limits with this prepaid plan: Price and validity are surprising

Ever since BSNL has found itself in financial woes, the state-owned telecom operator has been constantly trying to come up with aggressive to challenge the quite competitive private sector telecom players. We have recently seen a lot aggressively priced plans from BSNL offering more benefits than before. However, BSNL has been revising the validity and free data limits lately. And the latest plan that gets the same treatment is the long-term Rs 1,098 plan.

BSNL's Rs 1,098 plan has been around for a while and after receiving a number of revisions with regards to validity, the plan gets another revision to the way it offers the data and reduces the validity even further. For those who already have subscribed to this plan, this may not come across as good news.
Firstly, let's see what are the parameters BSNL hasn't revised. For starters, the plan still offers unlimited calls and 100 SMSes per day for the entire validity of the plan. However, do note that subscribers will be able to make truly unlimited calls with this plan with no restriction on the number of minutes. Also, BSNL still operates on 3G and 2G networks primarily, which is something you should know.
After this, everything changes on this plan. In terms of data, BSNL has ditched the per day data limit and is now offering a total of 375GB data for the entire duration of the plan. There's no limit to the amount of data that one can use per day. Once the 375GB data quota ends, the speed will be reduced to 40Kbps. BSNlL still markets this as an unlimited plan.
Apart from the data, BSNL has also reduced the validity of the plan. Subscribers now only get a validity of 75 days, which is slightly less than three months. This is bad for those who seek more validity from plans like these.
Therefore, BSNL has opened up the data usage limit but reduced the validity drastically. Rest of the benefits remain untouched.
This is surprising given that other operators are going more aggressive with their prepaid plans. However, Airtel is also joining BSNL's league and is no trying to improve the ARPU in a bid to improve its finances. BSNL also seems to be focusing on the revenue at the moment and give its financial status, this only makes sense for the company.
