BSNL revises Rs 999 prepaid plan, to offer almost 1GB data more per day

NEW DELHI: The data war is intensifying with each passing day as the telecom operators are busy rolling out and revising their existing data plans. Recently, Vodafone revised two of its prepaid plans and now the state-owned telecom operator BSNL too has revamped its prepaid plans.

In September this year, BSNL announced a ‘Bumper Offer’ in which it gave 2.2GB data per day to its users. The telco has now revised the same plan increasing the data offered.

The plan is priced at Rs 999 and it comes with a validity of 6 months. Under the plan, BSNL users will get unlimited calling and 3.1GB data per day. This means that the users will get 561GB data (approximately) in total under this plan. In case a user exhausts the daily FUP limit for data, then the speed will be reduced to 40Kbps. The unlimited calling facility in the plan does not come with any FUP limit.

The voice calls are free to all networks in India except for the mobile phone numbers in Delhi and Mumbai. The BSNL subscribers will be charged at 60 paise per minute if they call any mobile number from these two telecom circles. As reported by Telecom Talk, the plan is valid in 19 telecom circles.

Recently, it was reported that BSNL has started implementing its 4G services in the country. The telco also did a soft launch of the service in Idukki district in Kerala. As the company is launching its 4G services it has also introduced an offer for its existing subscribers. BSNL has announced that it will offer free 2GB data to all the users who will upgrade to a new 4G SIM. The telco is reportedly set to rollout its 4G services in parts of Maharashtra and Gujarat.
