Unlimited voice calls: Cheapest prepaid plans with free local and STD calling

If you’ve used a mobile phone since the very early days, you would remember having to pay over Rs 15 per minute for an outgoing call. In fact, just a couple of years ago, we would pay anywhere between Re 1 per minute to 2p/sec.
But since Reliance Jio entered the telecom space, things have taken a drastic change, and outgoing calls are completely free today. Of course, you need to make a prepaid recharge of a certain amount to get the fee calling benefit. Here’s a look at some of the cheapest prepaid plans you can buy today that offer free local and STD calling.

Airtel prepaid plans

Bharti Airtel has a number of prepaid plans with unlimited local and STD calling, starting as low as Rs 9. If you recharge with Rs 9 STV, you get 100MB data, 100 free SMS, and unlimited local and national calling. The validity of the same will be one-day. The other plan is priced at Rs 21, which offers unlimited calls, 200MB data, 100 SMS daily, and two-days validity.
The Rs 59 plan offers 500MB data, seven days validity and 100 SMS daily, along with unlimited local and national calling. If you are not interested in data, and just want a calling plan, you can recharge with Rs 69, which offers nine days validity, unlimited local and national calls, along with unlimited national roaming.
In case you are looking for a monthly plan, you can recharge with Rs 199, which offers 28 days validity, unlimited calls, 100 SMS daily and 1.4GB data daily.

Reliance Jio prepaid plans

Reliance Jio has three plans priced under Rs 100 offering unlimited local and national calls, along with unlimited roaming. Out of these, two plans are for JioPhone users, and they offer 28 days validity. The first one is priced at Rs 49 and offers 1GB 4G data, whereas the second one is priced at Rs 99, and offers 500MB daily data.

For other GSM smartphone users, there is a plan priced at Rs 98, which offers a validity of 28 days, and data benefit of 2GB. Users also get 300 free local and national SMS throughout the validity period.

Vodafone prepaid plans

Vodafone has the cheapest plan priced at Rs 14, which offers unlimited local and national calls for one hour. There are some other plans too, priced at Rs 7 and Rs 24, but they only offer unlimited local and national calls to Vodafone numbers.
Then, there is a plan priced at Rs 81, which offers 500MB data, seven days validity, and unlimited local and national calls. However, there is a FUP, maximum of 250 minutes per day, and 1,000 minutes per week. Regular plans start at Rs 199, and offer unlimited local and national calls, 1.4GB daily data, unlimited roaming and a validity of 28 days.

The telco has also launched a Rs 99 plan that comes with 28 days validity, and offers unlimited local and national outgoing calls, along with unlimited roaming. However, there is no clarity on whether there is any FUP on the calling or not.

Idea Cellular prepaid plans

Idea Cellular has two plans that offer unlimited local and national calls, 1GB data, and 100 SMS daily. One plan is priced at Rs 93 and offers a validity of 10 days, whereas the other plan is priced at Rs 179 and comes with 28 days validity.

BSNL prepaid plans

State-run telco, BSNL has three plans that offer unlimited voice calls without any FUP. The first plan is priced at Rs 39, and comes with 10 days validity. It also includes 100 free SMS and free PRBT (caller ringtone). The second plan, priced at Rs 75, comes with unmatched benefits compared to the competition. It comes with a validity of 15 days, and also includes 10GB data.

Lastly, there is a plan priced at Rs 99, which offers unlimited voice calling and free PRBT. It comes with a validity of 26 days, but sadly, does not offer any SMS or data benefits.
