BSNL introduces new broadband plans starting at Rs 99 to attract more customers

In order to compete better with upcoming Jio GigaFiber services, BSNL has now introduced a new range of broadband plans starting just at Rs 99 going up to Rs 399. The idea behind the plans is to get new subscribers, so existing BSNL customers do not have the option to migrate over to these plans, as reported by TelecomTalk.

Under these plans, users can get data benefits of up to 600GB in a month. Not just that, BSNL will be providing 20Mbps speeds with them, which will be reduced to 1Mbps after consuming the FUP. Users will also be getting unlimited calling benefits.
The new plans are available across the country except for Andaman & Nicobar telecom circle. Also, the plans are said to have been launched on promotional basis, which means that BSNL is likely to discontinue them after 90 days of introduction.
The new plans are dubbed as BSNL BBG Combo and they are available at Rs 99, Rs 199, Rs 299 and Rs 399. The former two plans offer data benefits of 45GB and 150GB in a month respectively. This means that users who avail the Rs 99 plan will get 1.5GB of data for a day, while Rs 199 plan subscribers will get about 5GB per day.
Moving up the ladder, the Rs 299 and Rs 399 plans look like they have been designed for family usage, where the data consumption is high. The two plans offer about 300GB and 600GB data respectively. So, users get a total 10GB of data for a day with the Rs 299 plan and 20GB of data with the Rs 399.

When subscribing to the plan, BSNL will be taking Rs 500 deposit from the customers. There seems to be another catch as well. As BSNL has designed the plan to get more subscribers, it will be forcing the new subscribers to migrate to other broadband plans after six months.
