Members of Parliament (MPs) met BSNL CGM
on Monday and demanded more Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) Towers
in their respective Lok Sabha constituencies to get rid of call drops
problems. Bhopal MP Alok Sanjar said, “We have conveyed our problems
regarding call drops.
BSNL is supposed to take prompt initiatives in
this regards. New colonies are coming up in outskirt areas and BSNL
should focus on these colonies regarding broad band and other
facilities.”
Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan
inaugurated the meeting. They are slated to meet Union minister of state
for telecommunications (independent charage) Jayant Sinha in Delhi on
the same issue. Anup Mishra, Morena MP, said, “BSNL should chalk out
policies at panchayat level. There must be more towers for better
facilities. Central ministry will give instruction to state government
which is bound to follow it as far BSNL policies regarding panchayat is
concerned.”
Nagendra Singh, Khajuraho MP, said,
“BNSL has shifted towers so it is not justified. What is the benefit of
base transceiver station (BTS) being installed by BSNL?” Mandsaur MP
Sudhir Gupta said, “Mandsaur Lok Sabha constituencies is spread in 300
km length wise and provides huge revenue for BSNL. But there is no GM
level post in BSNL while other Lok Sabha constituencies like Ujjain have
GM level officials, who have more financial powers.”
