BSNL Coming Forward With Rs 499 Postpaid Plan Offering 45GB Data, Unlimited Calls

BSNL has been concentrating a lot in the postpaid segment in recent times, especially since the start of this month. After introducing the Rs 399 postpaid plan, the telco is now back with yet another postpaid plan of Rs 499, which again offers slightly better benefits when compared to the
competition. BSNL’s postpaid plan of Rs 499 offers 45GB of data, unlimited voice calls and 100 SMS per day for the entire billing cycle. However, do make a note that the mentioned price of the plan is minus the GST charges. On the whole, this is a good plan for users with good BSNL coverage in their area, but do make a note that there’s no carry forward data option, meaning you have to consume the allocated data.

Talking more about the BSNL Rs 499 postpaid plan, it gives users unlimited voice calls to any network even on roaming without any daily or monthly FUP limit. As stated, it also provides 45GB of data, which a user should consume within the current month itself, otherwise, the unused will lapse. And lastly, users can also enjoy 100 SMS per day benefit, on par with other telecom operators. BSNL is also running Loot Lo postpaid offer providing up to 60% discount wit postpaid plans.
Earlier this month, BSNL introduced a Holi Dhamaka postpaid plan of Rs 399 with benefits of 30GB data, unlimited calls to any network and 100 SMS per day for a billing cycle. But the Rs 499 plan offers even better benefits than the Rs 399 plan, especially for just a Rs 100 extra, users will get 15GB of data.
When we compare the new BSNL Rs 499 plan with incumbent operator’s Rs 499 postpaid plan, BSNL’s plan is ahead, especially in the data benefit. All the telecom operators such as Airtel, Vodafone India and Idea Cellular are offering 40GB data benefit with the Rs 499 plan, which is 5GB less than BSNL’s offering.
Nevertheless, incumbent operators have an advantage with the data rollover scheme, which clearly is a miss for BSNL users. And it’s unlikely that BSNL will introduce data rollover scheme on its network. Apart from the data benefit, all the telcos are offering unlimited voice calls without any limit. While Airtel and Idea Cellular are offering 100 SMS per day with the Rs 499 plan, Vodafone is not providing just 100 SMS benefit for the entire validity period as per the company’s official website.
