During the month of April 2015 GSM rural subscriber base in the country grow 1.15% to 341.53 million. Total net addition in month of April was 3.88 million subscribers.
Airtel leads rural subscriber base with 108.91 million subscribers which is almost a third
of total rural subscribers in the country. Vodafone and Idea has the second and third largest rural GSM subscriber base with 98.75 million and 90.5 million subscribers respectively. In terms of circles, UP East circle have the maximum number of rural subscribers at 36.14 million.
During the month of April, Airtel added a maximum rural subscribers of 1.30 million. Vodafone added 0.84 million rural subscribers while Idea added 1.21 million. In terms of urban & rural subscriber mix, Uninor and Aircel had maximum rural subscribers at 69% and 65% of their total subscriber base.
