Rs10,700 crore telecom projects in north-east to improve connectivity

Guwahati: Telecom minister Manoj Sinha on Tuesday said the centre is initiating projects worth Rs10,700 crore for improving telephone connectivity in north-east (NE) by December this year.
“Telecom connectivity is a big problem in north-east. The central government had identified various solutions, but due to various reasons these could not be completed.

DoT to spend Rs 10,743 cr to improve connectivity in NE

 Guwahati: The government on Tuesday said it will invest Rs 10,743 crore for improving the telecommunication network in the northeastern states and along the National Highways in the region.

Union Minister of State for Telecommunications Jayant Sinha announced this while he was in Guwahati to review the implementation of BharatNet and other major telecom projects in the northeastern region.

BSNL Withdraws Unlimited Sunday Free Voice Calling from Landline and Broadband Plans Across India

State-run telecom operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has made yet another massive change, but this time for its broadband section. The company has now announced the withdrawal of unlimited Sunday free voice calling with its landline/combo/FTTH broadband plans. This new change will be effective from February 1, 2018, and is applicable to both new as well as existing customers. BSNL, a while back released a press statement on the same.

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has introduced offers for Landline and Mobile services.
In a press release, K. Venkatraman, principal general manager, BSNL, Vellore SSA, said installation charges were free for all new landline and broadband bookings.
