BSNL woos customers with increased broadband bandwidth and new offers

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited has increased the maximum broadband bandwidth to 10 Mbps to give new experience to its customers.

In a statement, B. Muruganantham, General Manager, Tirunelveli Telecom District, said the broadband bandwidth and Fair Usage Policy (FUP) had been increased from November 1 to 8 Mbps and 10 Mbps. The happy browsing scheme for broadband customers would be continued. Under this scheme, the customers could use broadband facility in the original speed throughout the month without any speed restrictions even after crossing the FUP limit.
As the BSNL had introduced full talk time offer of Rs. 160 to its 2G / 3G mobile pre-paid customers up to November 11 and increased the broadband bandwidth, mega melas were being organised by the BSNL’s Tamil Nadu Circle throughout the State on November 8, 15, 22 and 28 to attract new customers while encouraging existing subscribers to avail these facilities.
The melas would be conducted in all the telephone exchanges of Tirunelveli Telecom District on these days. Free 2G / 3G SIMs would be offered to new customers and those who want to migrate from other service providers. The mela would facilitate free mobile connection, MNP connection, new landline and broadband reconnection and redress for billing complaints.Customers could also link their Aadhaar number with their mobile numbers.
The 429 Plan with unlimited local and STD call facility to all networks throughout the country except Delhi and Mumbai and daily 1 GB data with 90 days facility was being reintroduced in the name of Digital India Plan along with the earlier facilities. The daily 1 GB limited data had been changed as unlimited data with 1 GB FUP. To activate this plan, customers should send SMS to 123 as ‘Plan Digital India 429’ and existing 429 plan customers should send SMS to 123 as ‘Plan Continue.’
The BSNL has introduced a new STV 187 (booster / rate cutter), which gives unlimited call facility to all networks throughout the country, 1 GB 3G free data and caller tunes with 28 days validity. Customers can make unlimited outgoing calls even while in roaming also (except Delhi and Mumbai). It can be activated only through C-Top Up and BSNL’s web portal.
BSNL has introduced waiver of first month rent to customers who are booking BSNL’s landline / broadband and FTTH connections through Facebook or Twitter. This facility can be availed up to October 29, 2018. It has also introduced a new mobile plan called Plan 97 with 365 day validity exclusively for customers who buy Micromax Bharat 1 brand mobile handset from October 24. This plan should be activated through e-KYC only. Customers can avail 5 GB unlimited data for 28 days and unlimited voice calls to all networks throughout the country. The customers can make unlimited outgoing calls even while in roaming also (except Delhi and Mumbai). This facility can be extended through STV 97 from the 29th day onwards.
