To counteract Jio’s launch of GigaFiber services, BSNL has
launched four new broadband plans with a daily limit on data. These new
plans do not fall under the telco’s Fiber-to-the-Home spectrum. With a
maximum of 600GB data on offer, a user can choose from any one of the
four new broadband plans from BSNL starting from Rs.99 before moving upwards to Rs.199, then Rs.299, and finally for Rs.399.
New Broadband Plans
BSNL
has recently launched four new broadband plan starting from Rs.99 and
then increasingly at Rs.199, Rs.299, and ending at Rs.399, which offer
up to 600GB data per month. All the plans are offered a consistent speed
of 20Mbps which drops down to 1Mbps when the FUP limit is crossed. The
Rs.99 plan carries fewer benefits than its recently launched
counterparts while the Rs.399 plan offers the maximum benefit of them
all while providing highest FUP limit per month.
Like before, the new broadband plans also offer unlimited
calls. Also, the new broadband plans have been introduced by BSNL pan
India and can be opted by anyone who fall under BSNL’s operational
circles, except for Andaman and Nicobar islands. The point to note is
that the four new plans are promotional offers and not permanent plans.
That means it’ll expire within 90 days of its introduction by BSNL.
BSNL Rs.99, 45GB BBG Combo ULD Plan
Out of the four new plans, this is the most
affordable plan of all. At Rs.99, this broadband plan offers its
subscriber 1.5GB of data with a FUP limit of 20 Mbps. The speed will
drop to 1Mbps once the given FUP limit expires.

For Rs.199, the user gets a total data of 150GB with a
daily cap at 5GB of data, a FUP limit of 20 Mbps with 1 Mbps speed after
the completion of the FUP limit.
BSNL Rs.299, 300 GB and Rs.399 600GB BBG Combo ULD Plan
For a per month rent of Rs.299 and Rs.399 respectively,
BSNL offers its users 300GB and 600GB of data, restricted at 10GB and
20GB per day at a speed of 20MBps. Once the FUP limit is all used up,
the user can still access the internet at a speed of 1Mbps before the
original speed is restored at 12AM every day, till the validity of the
plan.
Extra Shots
The 20Mbps FUP limit is applicable to daily data usage and
at the reduced speed of 1Mbps, after the completion of the 20Mbps of
speed, there is no restriction on downloads. Along with this, BSNL is
also offering 1GB of storage and an email ID. The four new plans by BSNL
have been introduced by the state-owned telco as a promotional strategy
with a validity of 90 days. The validity can be extended only if there
is a high demand for the plan.

Also, these plans are targeting new subscribers hence
existing users of BSNL broadband can’t avail these plans. To subscribe
to any of the four new plans, the user will need to pay a deposit fee of
Rs.500. After six-months in the plan, the user will be forcefully
migrated to another broadband plan. Discussions will be held for the
same at that time.
