In a significant development, BSNL has removed the unlimited free voice calling facility originating from landline and broadband packages with effect from February 1, 2018. This is applicable for landline, combo and FTTH broadband plans not only for new but also for existing customers.

Previously, the BSNL has modified the timings of the free voice calling timings for broadband users from 9 AM to 7 AM and 10.30 PM to 6 AM. It is to be noted that the change is applicable only if you a broadband user with a combo plan.

The main reason for the withdrawal of the unlimited free voice calling facility is attributed to the huge operating costs and competition from private players. If BSNL follows the same trend, then the state-owned company will have to face serious consequences including migration of consumers.

The BSNL BBG Combo ULD 499 (Rs. 499) offers 8Mbps speed with 10GB of bandwidth. The speed will be capped to 1MBps after the utilization of 10GB. The BSNL BBG ULD 545 (Rs. 545) provides 15GB of data bandwidth at 8Mbps. You will not be charged up to 15GB data, which is sufficient for normal usage.
If you would like to purchase a plan without any bandwidth limit, you can opt for BSNL BBG Combo UL 599 (Rs. 599) package. However, the speed of the service will be limited to 2Mbps. The BSNL BBG Combo ULD 680 (Rs. 680) provides 10Mbps speed up to 10GB usage. Moreover, he plan also includes free 100GB email space and 100 free calls from within BSNL network.
