BSNL Rs 777, Rs 1277 FTTH Broadband Plan Available For Existing Users

New Delhi: Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) had upgraded its FTTH lineup of high-speed broadband plans in June this year, with the introduction of new Rs. 777 and Rs. 1,277 plans. Earlier opened on a promotional basis for new users, it is now being reported that the plan has been extended to exisiting users. Moreover, the availability period of the offers have also been extended by the company.

 India’s Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has approved the state-owned operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) plan that mulls acquisition of spectrum in the 2100 Mhz band to launch 4G services across India, The Economic Times reports. Back in 2017, BSNL submitted a detailed project report in a bid to acquire spectrum worth around INR 138.8 billion, and sought INR 66.5 billion as equity infusion from the government and wanted to cover the remaining cost through revenue it would generate over a period of 10 years.

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited has now regularised two of its broadband plans which were introduced back in June. BSNL launched the Rs 777 and Rs 1,277 broadband plans back in June 2018 as promotional plans, which means the plans will not be offered after 90 days. However, BSNL has now regularised both the plans and made them open market ones.

BSNL to expand its 4G services across India as DoT approves spectrum acquisition

Earlier this year in February, BSNL kicked off its 4G services in the country. So far, the company has been offering its LTE services in the Kerala circle only. However, now, the state-run telecom operator is all set to expand its 4G footprint pan India.
