The Security forces do not use Telecom services
of Nepal on International Border in Uttarakhand. People residing along
the Indo-Nepal border are dependent on the services of Bharat Sanchar
Nigam Limited (BSNL). However, there are inputs that due to week signals
of BSNL, locals residing in bordering remote areas of Uttarakhand
sometimes use Nepali mobile services which are accessible along the
border areas.
A
large number of landline customers of state-run Bharat Sanchar Nigam
Limited (BSNL) and Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) feel cheated
as they do not get the refund of the security deposit charged from them
at the time of booking the connection.
Though the figures of BSNL could not be obtained, government
figures say that MTNL, which has its operations in Delhi and Mumbai, had
Rs 555.77 crore as security deposits from customers as on 31 March
2015.
