BSNL awards Rs 550 crore contract to TCS for 6,000 4G sites
State-run BSNL has awarded a contract worth Rs 550 crore to Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) for setting up 6,000 4G sites across the country. Initially, the 4G sites will be set up at locations that have high revenue potential and where the infrastructure is 4G-ready, followed by a pan-India rollout later.

डेस्क : भारत संचार निगम लिमिटेड (BSNL) स्वदेशी 4G नेटवर्क के रोल आउट के लिए देश भर में लगभग 1.12 लाख टावर लगाने की योजना बना रहा है। यह जानकारी दूरसंचार मंत्री अश्विनी वैष्णव ने लोकसभा में दी। साथ ही उन्होंने ट्रेनों के अंदर इंटरनेट कनेक्शन के बारे में कहा कि यह 5G नेटवर्क शुरू होने पर ही उपलब्ध हो सकता है, क्योंकि 4G तकनीक 100 किमी प्रति घंटे की रफ्तार से चलने वाली ट्रेनों में संचार बाधित करती है।

India’s telecom minister, Ashwini Vaishnaw said in Lok Sabha (House of the People) that Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is planning to install 112,000 mobile towers across India to roll out 4G services.
According to a PTI report, Vaishnaw said that the homegrown 4G network is being appreciated worldwide and it has a core network, radio network, and full telecom equipment.
