BSNL told to Improve Services and Win back People Confidence

Bharat Sanchar Nigam has been told to improve services and ensure that better quality of signal is maintained specially in the border and extremism affected areas. Union Minister for Telecom and Information Technology, Sh Ravi Shankar Prasad said these at a meeting with the members of Parliament from the States of Bihar, Meghalaya, Manipur and Nagaland.

In a press release on dated 28.04.2015 from the Ministry of Communications & Information Technology it has been informed that Bharat Sanchar Nigam has been told to improve services and ensure that better quality of signal is maintained specially in the border and extremism affected areas. Union Minister for Telecom and Information Technology, Sh Ravi Shankar Prasad said these at a meeting with the members of Parliament from the States of Bihar, Meghalaya, Manipur and Nagaland. The meeting was part of the series of meetings planned to make telecom officials directly answerable to the parliamentary representatives so as to have a firsthand account of public sectors performance, problems faced and possible solutions.

Union's Meeting with CMD updates

Indian telecom operators see growth in data traffic

New telecom service quality parameters soon: TRAI chief

New Delhi: India's telecom regulator is likely to announce new parameters for improvement of quality of service for telecom operators in a month's time to tackle call dropping and other problems being faced by customers, its chairman Rahul Khullar said here on Wednesday.

He was speaking at the 2nd National Summit on 'IT & Mobile Banking: Digital Transformation of Indian Banking; Enabling Financial Inclusion', organised by the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (Assocham).

Working to get 50 crore internet connections by 2018, says Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad

The government is working towards pulling off a goal of 50 crore internet connections by 2018, Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said today.

“Last year, Internet service providers told me that we have got 30 crore Internet connections in India… my plan is by 2018, to make 50 crore Internet connections in India, that’s what we are working for,” Prasad said at an event here.

“I am convinced that in the coming 2-3 years, India will become equal to China as an IT market of the world, I have no doubts about it,” the Minister said.

BSNL Public WiFi Services and Unlimited Free Calling Offer from 1st May 2015 onwards

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has announced the launch of Public WiFi Services and Unlimited Free Calling Offer during from its landline phones. Unlimited Free night Calls are available from BSNL landline phones to all landline and mobile phones of all service provider networks on all India basis from 1st May 2015 onwards.
The scheme for unlimited free night calls, from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m., was announced at a press conference by Chief General Manager of BSNL Kerala - Shri.M.S.S. Rao, on 28th April 2015. Relaunched Special Relief Scheme 'SAMADHAAN' Broadband usage bills

National Telecom Backbone Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has decided to re-launch a Special Relief Scheme 'SAMADHAAN' for settlement of disputes in respect of Broadband usage bills for the benefit of existing and ex-customers of Broadband Services across India.

This scheme was initially launched in 2010 and got great response from Customers across India.  The main reason for excess usage bill complaint is the lack of awareness about the appropriate BSNL Broadband Plans by customers. Customers may select the right plan as per their usage / requirement from a wide variety of plans offered by BSNL.

BSNL Revised National roaming tariff from May 1, 2015

BSNL has decided to rationalize its national roaming tariff under prepaid and postpaid mobile services in order to comply with new guidelines issued by TRAI. Here are the changes made in the existing roaming charges-
