According to a tweet by the official BSNL handle, the offer is applicable only for new BSNL data subscribers with 3G capable GSM smartphones. However, after 30 days, subscribers have to buy new data packs or plans to enjoy mobile internet services. BSNL says that the new promotional offer is based on the Digital India initiative and is all set to help subscribers who are first-time internet users.

Meanwhile, BSNL has extended the validity of select prepaid mobile plans by 43 percent and increased the data offered by 50 percent. Under this scheme, pre-paid plan priced at Rs 485 will offer 1.5GB data per day with a validity of 90 days. In the same way, a recharge of Rs 666 will give 1.5GB per day data with a validity of 129 days.

BSNL has also partnered Detel and launched a new feature phone known as D1 at Rs 499. Under the plan, a customer will get talk time of Rs 103 with calls to other BSNL numbers at 0.15 per minute and calls to other networks at 0.40 per minute along with a personal ring back tone for 28 days.
