Vodafone customers doing recharge of ₹458 or ₹509 were offered free local and STD voice calls, free outgoing on roaming, 100 local and national SMS per day, and, 1 GB 3G/4G data per day. There are no extra charges for calls made in roaming and no restriction on calls (daily or weekly free calling minutes). With 1GB data of bundled high-speed data with the pack, users will now get 91GB of 4G/ 3G data with the plan now.
Meanwhile, BSNL has extended the validity of select prepaid mobile plans by 43 percent and increased the data offered by 50 percent. To start with the Rs 186 and Rs 187 plans, both of them now offers unlimited voice calls along with 1GB of data per day over a period of 28 days. It has now taken the place of the more expensive Rs. 448 pack that offers a validity of 82 days, instead of the older 70 days. All calls are free in these plans. The data offered, just as that of Airtel and Jio, is 3G/4G.
Those who happen to use excessive internet data can buy a plan for anywhere between Rs 300 to Rs 350 a month, or 28 days to be precise.
BSNL has also partnered Detel and launched a new feature phone known as D1 at Rs 499. Similarly, the Rs. 509 Vodafone plan used to provide prepaid subscribers with 84-day validity but will remain active for 91 days now. Plan 448 of Jio offers 126GB data for a period of 84 days and plan 498 of Jio offers 136GB data for 91 days.
Newcomer Jio continued to steadily climb in terms of market share, taking it to 13.08%, up from 12.39% in October, 11.72% in September and 11.19% in August, as per data released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) Thursday.
