Recently we heard the news about the
privatization of BSNL & MTNL, for this every telecom user has to
know how much will they have to pay really, if it is happened.
BSNL being a state owned company, having a powerful in infrastructure both in physical and at human resource also. BSNL is the only company which will install their receivers or transmitters on towers with in permissible limits. It is the Only Company which will give you the promised speed at any point of time for every nook & corner across India.
Whenever there is a natural calamity in remote areas, BSNL is the only company which makes rescue team efforts even better and fast (recently we have seen the services of BSNL in Uttarakhand and Jammu Kashmir Floods), We all are seeing the changes what BSNL is doing with its services, It is even better than its competitors.
After taking over as Communications & Information Technology minister Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad, had given a statement that BSNL should provide Quality of Service, and as after our Dynamic PM, Shri Narendramodi Ji came into power, every one of us are expecting to have technology at our door step with much awaited Broadband highways, which really are top class vision.
Technology benefits should be utilised for Rural areas in all sectors whether it can be Education/Medical/Agriculture, then only we will see a very developed country “Our India” from all corners. Do you think all these things will happen without BSNL? we don’t think so. Any private player, their main agenda is profit making not the coverage to remote places. If rural areas also makes profits then they will come. If BSNL is not in the competition, then even government may also don’t have any control over them about tariffs & services.
Yes we all love to work and want to give our best to our country, lets expect Govt. may not take any hazy decision to go ahead with privatisation of PSU companies in particular where the market for these companies like BSNL are very high. We have to think of expanding BSNL to overseas rather than encroaching the encroachment of private players in PSU area.
Encourage BSNL, Empower BSNL and define roadmap for the company and its services and at last motivate the team, don’t call them loss making, make them profit making, remove political pressure while making polices.

Why Public Sector Undertakings beneficial to us
At any point of time private players will have individual interests as they are doing business, Means there will be expectations for them at any point of time. Private sector employees might get benefits, without job security, some misguiding on tax policies.
Finally it’s the society which is going to be effected. If the sector is really profit making, then why can’t we make our own PSUs in that line. Everybody knows there is a lethargic atmosphere in PSUs, truly speaking the employees should be the best in their academics to get into a PSU job.
It’s the work culture, it’s the policies to purchase or to implement any new technology, it’s the decision making and finally the accountability which lacks in a PSU culture.

Why Public Sector Undertakings beneficial to us
- Profits, Gained by PSU will again utilised for the welfare of the country and its people.
- PSU vision and work, other than profits will work against interest all sections of the society.
- Ex:- If you consider IDPL (Indian Drugs and Pharmaceuticals Limited), it has supplied drug at 10% of the price when plague epidemic was there.
- Considering any state owned road transport, Govt. Bus connectivity will be there for remote villages even when road is not at all in proper condition. While Private buses will be there only when the road and cost per ticket is beneficial, they first see their individual benefit and society interest is not at all their prime responsibility
- And also at present, BSNL the only telecom operator offers Free SIM Cards for Pradan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojna Scheme.
- PSUs are meant for a reason in any country can it be a under developed, developing or developed nations. Ever where there are required for any country to grow addressing its own interests.
