In view of rationalization, Telecom Major Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited revised the existing Specific Combo Landline Plans (Plan 100 BB Combo & Plan 150 BB Combo) tariff of Maharashtra circle with increase in free calls.

BSNL revised the existing Landline Plan Plan 100BB Combo with new plan name Plan 140 Spl by enhancing the monthly rental charges at Rs.40 only, and Plan 150BB Combo revised with new plan name Plan 195 Spl with extended free calls upto 300% from 50 to 195 with lowest call charges @ Rs.1/MCU for own network and Rs.1.2/MCU for other network.

Broadband and Landline plans in Maharashtra : Revised w.e.f. 01/11/2014

We recently brought you the story of BSNL revising two of its BB and LL plans in Maharashtra. Well they have now revised the tariffs of even more plans. Here’s a list of changes:
  • BBG 275 has been revised to BBG325 and the fixed monthly charge has increased from Rs 275 to Rs 325.
  • BB Home UL545 has been revised to BB Home UL645 with the FMC going to Rs 645 from Rs 545.
  • BB Home Combo UL675 has now become BB Home Combo UL775 and the fixed monthly charge has increased to Rs 775 from Rs 675.
  • BB Home Combo ULD800 has now become BB Home Combo ULD899 and the fixed monthly charge has increased to Rs 899 from Rs 899.
  • BB Home Combo ULD900 has now become BB Home Combo ULD1000 and the fixed monthly charge has increased to Rs 1000 from Rs 900.
  • BB Home Combo ULD9 has now become BB Home Combo ULD1099 and the fixed monthly charge has increased to Rs 1099 from Rs 999.

BSNL has started off an e-auction of fancy and vanity mobile numbers from today in Kerala, Chhattisgarh, Up West and East, Uttaranchal. The auction will be conducted through the online portal and the available numbers range from identical last five digits to identically paired digits.
Customers can participate in the auction either through web or SMS. The entire process, right from registration of the numbers, seems to be simple and hassle free.

Unlimited 10Mbps Fibre Net plan with no FUP

BSNL introduces new FTTH broadband plans for the Gram Panchayats coming under the NOFN project. The new plan comes at a rental of Rs.7225 with unlimited downloads at flat speed of 10Mbps. Even there is no FUP and the speed remains steady till the end of the month. BSNL is also not charging any security deposits for this plan. Users also have an annual payment option with a one month rental waiver.

Government of India has asked telecom firms to implement full mobile number portability (MNP) by May 3 2015.
For this, the Department of Telecom (DoT) has given its approval to the introduction of full mobile number portability and has asked mobile operators to implement it by May 3.

Reliance Jio Infocomm has signed a pact with the Government owned BSNL allowing them to lease out 4000 mobile towers. BSNL will be charging flat Rs 38,000 per month for a Ground based Tower. Department of Telecom finally allots the 1,800 MHz spectrum bands auctioned this year

The telecom department has finally completed allotting a major part of the 1,800 MHz spectrum it auctioned earlier this year.  Bharti Airtel, Vodafone, Idea Cellular, Reliance Jio Infocomm and Uninor were the companies that won it. Bharti Airtel is awaiting allocation of the more efficient 900 MHz spectrum secured in Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai. On the other hand, Vodafone has been allocated a portion of the 900 MHz spectrum it won.

DoT to ensure un-disrupted services in the event of Cyclone Nilofar

Cyclone Nilofar, categorised as “severe” by weather forecasters, is expected to hit the western state of Gujarat during the “next 24-48 hours”.
Department of Telecom (DoT) has warned various operators about the services in the targeted areas viz districts of Kutch, Jamnagar, Junagarh and Porbandar and advised them to share infrastructure through intra-circle roaming arrangements for 15 days. DoT also advised operators to set up call center in Gujarat with helpline number 1948 where people could call to trace missing persons and other services.
