Wake us up when the telecom war ends! Just after Airtel made yet another change in the plans it offers, BSNL stands next in line for a little rejig. BSNL has launched two new prepaid plans, priced at Rs 99 and Rs 319. Irrespective of your network circle, as long as you have a BSNL prepaid connection, you will be eligible for the update. Unlimited national roaming calls, however, are limited to Mumbai and Delhi connections.

Apart from the unlimited calls and free roaming, another attraction of the plans is the validity. While the Rs 99 plan is valid for 26 days, the Rs 319 plan’s validity is for 90 days.

Additionally, there is also a Rs 999 plan, under which BSNL will offer unlimited calls and 1GB per day data with a validity of 181 days.

BSNL has lately been updating its offers a lot lately, along with some new ones being added to the charts. However, apart from adding, BSNL has also been doing some cleaning up in its offerings. BSNL recently announced that it has discontinued seven of its prepaid plans across different telecom circles. The plans withdrawn by the operator include the special tariff vouchers (STV), combo STV and the recently revised prepaid data plan priced at Rs 821.

The telecom operator confirmed that it has withdrawn its plans including STV plans of Rs 398, Rs 629, Rs 2,399, Rs 821 and Rs 1,949, while two other plans discontinued are Rs 3,099 and Rs 1,402. The operator also confirmed that BSNL subscribers will not be able to recharge with the above mentioned tariff plans anymore.

Along with plans, BSNL is also working on updating its network. BSNL hopes to roll out 10,000 4G mobile towers by March this year and the company seems to be inching closer towards enhancing their infrastructure and readying themselves to compete with the likes of established players in the telecom industry such as Airtel, Jio, Idea and Vodafone. Its 4G service rollout shall come into effect starting from select states, including Kerala and Odisha where it has a strong presence.
