All unions of non-executives and associations of
executives of the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), Punjab,
conducted a convention for the preparation of the scheduled two-day
strike in the BSNL.
The strike will be held on December 12 and 13. The convention was presided over by AK Verma, circle president of the BSNL Employee Union.
Addressing the gathering, he said: “The revision of wages of the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited employees is due from January, but it is being denied on the plea that according to the guidelines issued in December 2016 and approved by the Cabinet in July 2017, the wage revision of the loss-making public sector is not allowed.”
“The wages of 40 lakh Central Government employees stand revised and orders for the wage revision of profit-making public sectors are also issued, but theBharat Sanchar Nigam Limited is denied of the same,” he said.
Leaders urged the workers and employees to make December 12 and 13 strike a success and decided to go on indefinite strike if their demands are not met.
