Telecom regulator Trai Friday recommended that spectrum charges for state-owned BSNL's satellite phone services be fixed at 1 per cent of the revenue accrued from such services, replacing the current model of formula-based levy. If the regulator's recommendations are accepted by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), it could drive down the cost of using satellite phone services by nearly 50 per cent, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) Chairman and Managing Director Anupam Shrivastava told .

Printed telecom bills for another three months: BSNL

PANAJI: Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) authorities have decided to defer implementing the decision to discontinue providing printed bills to consumers, by three months.

BSNL, principal general manager, Yogesh Chandra Mishra said the decision has been taken in view of suggestions and objections made by NGOs and consumers. BSNL had last week decided to issue soft copies of the bill from January 1, 2019. Consumers will now receive hard copy bills for at least three more months.
