Meeting with GM(Pers) : JTO to SDE Promotions

Meeting with GM(Pers): GS, AGS Com Arvind Dahiya and Com Sanjeev Sharma, CS/UP(W) Circle met GM(Pers) on 19.05.2015 and held discussions on the following issues.
a) Filing of reply in the Hon Kerala HC on JTO to SDE case and a separate MA for early hearing. GS informed the new GM(Pers) that the issue is badly delayed and the Hon HC reopened on 18.05.2015 after vacassion. The informations sought by Hon HC yet to be filed. Since the interim direction was extended for another 3 months on 06.04.2015, a separate MA has to be filed for early hearing. GM(Pers) assured that he will speak to CGM and take necessary action.

The case was listed for hearing today. In the contempt matter, DoT submitted an undertaking to the Hon Court to correct its earlier order and implementing the judgment in a phased manner. Full details of the submission will be received by evening from our lawyer.

Meeting with Sri Anupam Shrivastava, CMD, BSNL on 19.05.15

GS, CHQ President and GS/BSNLEU met CMD BSNL and held discussions. DIR(HR) was also present. During discussion CMD appealed to capitalise the recent free call facility offered to the landline customers. Large number of waiting list is generated at field units as a result of the offer. Special efforts may be taken to provide maximum connections and strategies has to be workedout at each SSA and Circle level with frequent interaction between SSA/Circle Heads and Forum leaders, CMD suggested.

Mobile phone and landline users can now dial STD numbers without using 0 or +91 as a prefix following the implementation of an order by the department of telecom (DoT) by leading telecom companies.
The move constitutes a major step towards achieving full mobile number portability (MNP). Many leading telecom service providers have started implementing the service while others are putting in place the requisite technology and carrying out trial runs.

BSNL Starts Free WiFi At Konark Sun Temple From 21st May

Starting tomorrow, visitors to the 13th-century Sun Temple at Konark in Odisha, would get free WiFi service. State run operator BSNL is offering this service and all the required infrastructure are in place, highly placed sources in the company said.
 
“Installation of WiFi is complete since a week but I can’t say if its going live tomorrow,” BSNL CMD Anupam Shrivastava told TeleAnalysis.

About 12,909 gram panchayats, 46,000 government offices, educational institutions and hospitals are slated to receive free wifi over the next three years through the Optic Fibre Grid being set up in Andhra Pradesh.

Information Technology advisor to AP Government, J Satyanarayana said that the project will cost Rs 4,660 crores of which the Centre will provide Rs 3,840 crores as part of the National Optic Fibre Network, and the state government will allot Rs 820 crores. While the work on the optic fibre grid will officially start on October 22 on Dasara, some 55,000 kms of optic fibre cable has been prepared using Geographical Information System (GIS).
“Our aim is to provide free wifi connectivity to all villages, educational institutions, hospitals along with 46,000 government institutions,” Satyanarayana said. At least 1.20 crore households in AP will also be provided 15 to 20 Mbps internet connections for under Rs 200 per connection per month by the end of 2018, according to IT Minister P Raghunath Reddy.
The grid will have two main rings covering 2,491 kms across the 13 districts in the state. The project envisages connecting to all gram panchayats from mandal headquarters which are already connected through the BSNL network. Horizontal connectivity from gram panchayats to schools and other educational institutions, primary health centres and government offices will be given through wifi.
The government has already issued right of way orders and a pilot project is going on in Parwada Mandal of Vizag district where villages under 17 gram panchayats are being linked with wifi.
The Power Grid Corporation Ltd is the executing agency while Bharat Broadband Network Limited, the special purpose vehicle created by Government of India, will establish, manage and operate the grid under the National Optical Fibre Network. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu asked collectors to monitor the progress of work in their respective districts.
The CM set a deadline of three years for the completion of grid in the state after it is launched this Dasara, adding that the fibre grid must be put to full utilization in sectors like education, medicine, e-governance, agriculture, rural development, e-commerce.
The fibre optic grid is one of the five grids being established by the AP Government; the four others are Water Grid, Gas Grid, Power Grid, and Road Grid.
Officials said that the internet connectivity in every nook and corner of the state will help in improving citizen services, improve digital literacy and skill development, and help in good governance besides enable IT Enabled Services to set up BPOs or call centres in rural areas.

नई दिल्‍ली। बीएसएनएल प्रीपेड मोबाइल उपभोक्ताओं के लिए एक अच्‍छी खबर है। बीएसएनएल ने प्रीपेड 2जी व 3जी डाटा एसटीवी का बचा डाटा अगले रिचार्ज पर स्‍वत: जुड़ जाने की सुविधा शुरू की है।

BSNL customers to get unused mobile data on next recharge

NEW DELHI: Subscribers of BSNL's pre-paid 2G and 3G services will get unused mobile Internet data added to their plans when they go for next recharge.

This facility has been available on BSNL network for both 2G and 3G mobile Internet plans but the same was stopped in February, the company said in a statement.

"This new facility will be applicable for all the GSM 2G and 3G pre-paid mobile customers of all BSNL circles across India," the statement said.

TRAI to wait for SC order before implementing tariff orders for commercial subscribers

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has decided to wait for the verdict of Supreme Court to make further amendments to its tariff orders for commercial subscribers issued on 1st October 2014 and 21st July 2010. These tariff orders were stayed by Telecom Disputes Settlement and Arbitration Tribunal (TDSAT) on 9th March 2015.
